Role
Who you are
- 5-8+ years of experience as an engineer and previously worked with mobile products
- Experience building native android/iOS apps with Swift/Kotlin
- Experience with React native and TypeScript
- 2+ years of experience in a senior engineering position
- A product mindset and the courage to contribute innovative suggestions
- Previous growth stage startup experience is a strong plus
- Genuine concern about the climate crisis and a desire to make a meaningful impact

- As a Senior Mobile Engineer at Treecard, you'll be at the forefront of shaping our cutting-edge mobile experiences
- Expect your days to be filled with dynamic challenges, as you are part of a team dedicated to the delivery of features that truly matter. In your day to day role you will help to shape all elements of product delivery, not the just the technical parts
- Delivery is a team sport, and we encourage everyone at Treecard to share their ideas from product ideation to new ways of working
- We’re currently focused on building our latest product - Wildhero, an email client that plants trees as you email!
- We’re very close to product market fit and will be scaling the product to thousands of users over the coming months
- Our team is fully remote and this role can be based anywhere in the UK! We also have an office available to our London teammates if preferred (usually 1-2x/week) and you should plan to travel 3x per year to our global team retreats in some really cool places!
- Be part of the charge in delivering and maintaining features for our mobile apps, focusing on delivering value with speed. Embrace the philosophy of recovering quickly from failures, valuing progress over perfection
- Take on significant responsibility as an early team member, influencing the product and the company's trajectory
- Collaborate closely with our Lead Mobile engineer, VP of Engineering, backend engineering, and product teams to create seamless, innovative user experiences
- What we’ve shipped recently:
- MVP email client for gmail that went 0 - 1 in 5 weeks
- An updated version of our Email cleaner tool that allows users to delete & unsubscribe from undesired emails in bulk
- Migrated our data layer to Kotlin Multiplatform to offload heavy lifting from React Native
- Iterated on our Impact Centre to better allow users to understand the impact their trees are having. It now features interactive maps, videos and GPS tagged planting site images
- Improved our build process to enable on demand PR builds via BitRise to complement our existing on merge build process
Salary benchmarks
Our take
Directing the flow of consumer finances towards fighting the climate crisis is an extremely powerful way to affect change. Treecard aims to do this by providing a way for consumers to spend more responsibly and to date has planted over 6 million trees.
They are partnered with Ecosia and will be working very closely with them as they grow. In particular, they will be doing all the tree planting and the search engine will provide a core channel for user acquisition.
Treecard is well positioned to become the leading green finance brand with a full suite of products for conscious consumers and business users (green investing, expense cards, bank to bank payments). This is a position no brand has claimed yet.
