Company mission

To disrupt the home improvement industry and reinvent the homeowner experience by building the world's most comprehensive and accurate physical property data set.

Role

Who you are

  • Results & demonstration of progress over ideas & activity
  • Early, ugly docs & designs for inputs/feedback over holding things close until you feel they’re “good enough”
  • Validate with users early, often, and always
  • Determining the right thing to do for the right reasons at the right time over blindly following a process
  • Polite, constructive, direct feedback over trying to protect feelings
  • Offering a helping hand without being asked, and wearing many hats
  • Chasing good opportunities and driving problems until they’re done
  • Smart self-sufficiency: find the best way to get it done, leveraging yourself and others
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of product management experience defining, building, and shipping modern software solutions, ideally B2B2C (marketplace) oriented
  • Demonstrated understanding and hands-on experience with the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery
  • Ability to learn multiple functional areas of the business – engineering, design, finance, sales, or marketing
  • Experience and ability solving hard problems that have many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative
  • Proven ability to engage with engineers, designers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship
  • Strong analytical expertise and familiarity digging into Tableau, Mixpanel, or other BI tools and writing SQL queries to answer questions
  • An eye for UX design and the ability to communicate clear requirements and user needs
  • Experience leading user research and becoming the subject matter expert of your target user personas

What the job involves

  • You will be able to find a balance between moving extremely quickly while still facilitating effective collaboration across the business, both within other cross functional product teams and the broader business
  • You will focus relentlessly on refining your understanding of business and customer needs, and you will build an expansion strategy that fits with our broader mission and vision
  • While you will be empowered to define the best customers and solutions to pursue, you will also be held accountable for results – not just shipping product but business outcomes
  • Rather than shy away from this you will embrace it, especially when it means you will have to work through others to achieve those results
  • You will be the GM of your product line and be responsible for revenue and not just shipping features
  • This job, as with nearly all other roles on the product team, is an individual contributor role
  • You will need to be able to influence your teammates, as well as colleagues, stakeholders, and key executives, through your use of data and logic

Our take

Hover sets out to disrupt the exterior home improvement industry with a platform that enables homeowners to turn basic photos of their property into full 3D models. The platform uses up to eight ground-level photographs of the property, which are patched together into a three-dimensional image.

This image, which is layered with information on materials and dimensions of the structure, can then be used by insurance companies to assess and price damage, without the need to dispatch an inspector.

Hover has had over one million app downloads and following series D financing in 2020, the company has invested in enhancing its 3D data platform whilst expanding its eCommerce efforts. In 2022, Hover was named one of CB Insights Top 50 innovative Insurtech companies 2022.
