Who you are

  • Currently in your penultimate or final year and working towards a university degree in business, marketing, finance, economics, or a related field
  • Eligible to complete a full-time internship of 3-6 months
  • Highly proficient in both spoken and written English and the local language of the country you are applying for (Common European Framework of Reference C1)

Desirable

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify process improvements and innovative solutions
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, able to collaborate effectively with others
  • Demonstrated curiosity, proactivity, and willingness to take on challenges in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
  • Experience in the B2C logistics industry
  • Expert use of MS Office Suite, CRMs, sales and marketing automation tools (e.g. Salesforce.com), eLearning tools

  • We are looking for a highly driven, entrepreneurial, analytical and customer-obsessed Business Developer Intern. You will join the team before the launch of a new service offering and will contribute to the development of a strong pipeline, and to collecting market segment and customer insights to improve the product and delight the Amazon customers. You are the ideal candidate if:
  • You are excited by contributing to launching and help developing a new business
  • * You love to identify and interact with current and potential future customers, listen to their needs, and work to find the best solutions for them
  • * You are a self-starter, and can juggle multiple priorities to make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often highly ambiguous environment

  • * This role will require moderate domestic travel (max. 25%)
  • Key job responsibilities:
  • * Deliver Results: Identify market segment opportunities for our new service offering
  • * Customer relationship management: Building and maintaining strong, trustful relationship with our potential future customers
  • * Cross-functional collaboration: Relay market segment needs and requirements back to internal Amazon teams including Product Management and Tech teams
  • * Dive deep: Measure performance, articulate root-cause analysis, and link to specific improvement areas
  • * Invent and Simplify: Analyze current purchasing processes and evaluate opportunities for solutions to improve end user experiences, reduce costs, and accelerate organization performance

Amazon is the world's largest online retailer, and is well-known for its disruption of well-established industries. The company is present in numerous verticals, including cloud computing with Amazon Web Services, AI with its range of Alexa devices and a global marketplace more commonly referred to as 'the everything store'. Acquisitions include Ring, Twitch, Whole Foods Market, and IMDb.

More recently, Amazon has been focused on leading the "third wave in digital advertising". Many businesses are now shifting ad dollars to retailers, which before would have been spent with online media platforms. Amazon's seen great success in the space, with its revenue from advertising now higher than its Amazon Prime membership scheme, audiobooks and digital music combined. This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.

Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
