Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of Software Development experience
- Expertise in at least one server-side web application language. Python/Django, Go, or Java experience is a plus
- Expertise in modern JavaScript/HTML/CSS. Experience with React is a huge plus
- Experience within the AWS ecosystem preferred
- Ability to design and implement heavily used services and systems
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong desire to learn new technologies
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic startup environment
- Ability to mentor junior engineers across teams
What the job involves
- You will collaborate with front end, back end, data science, infrastructure, and machine learning engineers to collectively improve the state of engineering at Nextdoor. All engineers are invited to join co-ops to facilitate continuous modernization and knowledge sharing
- We believe in empowering our teams to own all aspects of bringing Nextdoor to life. As such, you’ll get the opportunity to make key contributions across our engineering stack - this includes developing and improving frameworks across our frontend and backend services, in addition to making direct contributions to your team’s product area
- Software Engineers at Nextdoor have a stake in all aspects of the product - from coming up with the next big ideas to build, to helping set expectations and plan roadmaps, to understanding the impact of new features through rigorous data analysis.
