Who you are

  • Deep experience architecting and developing new, complex features for enterprise customers
  • Background in cloud/SaaS product development and distributed systems
  • Experience partnering closely with product stakeholders and cross-functional teams to build and enhance widely used products
  • Experience interacting directly with customers on video conferencing calls, presenting POCs, eliciting feedback and requirements
  • Experience writing RFCs/system design documents solving complex problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional experience developing with Go

  • Experience with HashiCorp Vault and/or cloud-native secrets management tools such as AWS or GCP Secrets Managers

What the job involves

  • HashiCorp is hiring a Staff-level Engineer to take on greenfield development for the Vault Radar product
  • In this role, you will solve complex engineering problems for the Vault Radar team. We are looking for an entrepreneurial engineer at the Staff or Principal level that is interested in the future of enterprise secrets management
  • Your projects will range from operational and stability upgrades to novel, greenfield development initiatives across the HashiCorp Vault/Vault Radar teams
  • You will work with internal and external stakeholder groups, including customers, engineering, design, and product management to deeply understand the Vault + Vault Radar products and customer sentiment, and use that information to drive new product initiatives
  • Translate customer and product asks around security and governance related workflows into technical engineering design workflows/diagrams and present to stakeholders and customers
  • Collaborate regularly with internal security engineers to ensure the system and the product adhere to the highest standards of security
  • Create technical RFC documents for engineering organization (primarily Principal Engineers)
  • Guide and mentor Senior Engineers
  • Develop POCs primarily in Go
  • The Vault Radar Team builds and maintains a platform responsible for scanning source code repositories, as well as other text-based sources for various risks
  • Our platform is expected to handle millions of requests and manage and query rich metadata in a scalable and highly available service-oriented platform
  • Vault Radar provides actionable insights and control for implementing security and compliance. It stores and indexes metadata, used for providing insights, alerting on abnormal behavior, policy evaluation, data visualization, and slice & dice data analysis
  • The engineers on our team have a passion for solving complex problems, designing object data models to represent complex application data, and building highly scalable and highly available platforms
  • You will be leveraging new technologies and inventing new algorithms to solve complex code security related problems
