  • This position requires strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and top notch organizational and project management abilities
  • The ideal candidate must effectively handle day-to-day issues (constantly thinking about how to invent and simplify to improve!), and engage strategize on longer-term, program-wide initiatives
  • Experience managing complex, time-sensitive issues, is valuable for this role

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Extensive years of experience at a senior level, working on human rights, labor rights, multi-stakeholder initiatives, international development, labor rights training, or social responsibility
  • Multiple years of experience working in the Europe region with intimate knowledge of EU legislative requirements on Business and Human Rights (Eg: GSCDD, CSRD, CSRDDD etc)
  • Demonstrated experience using judgment skills and abilities to make decisions quickly
  • Ability to analyze and propose data-driven solutions

Desirable

  • Multiple years of experience managing escalations relating to human rights issues
  • Experience with workflow management systems
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiar with human rights issues within complex supply chains
  • Ability to work independently when needed and escalate appropriately

What the job involves

  • Our Social Responsibility (SR) team is looking for a Senior SR Manager for the Europe region
  • The Social Responsibility program drives customer trust and business continuity by ensuring respect for the rights of workers throughout Amazon’s supply chain and operations
  • We uphold company standards and expectations (such as our supply chain standards) and seek to constantly improve the tools and processes that we use in doing so
  • We are looking for a Senior Social Responsibility Manager to play a leadership role in designing the strategy to support the Operations supply chain in Europe
  • They will engage with cross-functional teams internally and externally to mitigate human rights risks within Operations supply chains
  • They will deploy communications and tools to reach a large number of supplier and business stakeholders to effectively implement programs, and will also develop mechanisms, including standard operating procedures, to uphold Amazon policies and standards
  • Coordinate with multiple Amazon businesses and functions, as well as third-party social responsibility service providers and suppliers
  • Proactively work with cross functional teams to enhance and evolve programs to drive measurable improvements on process efficiency and improvements
  • Analyze data to track trends and initiate deep dives to detect opportunities
  • Participate in region partnerships with industry associations, identifying opportunities for leveraging the membership
  • Develop and improve project and program management processes, prioritizing ways to leverage technology and automate

On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
