Who you are

  • We’re looking for an experienced, innovative, and collaborative head of brand design to lead a talented team
  • 12+ years of experience designing for in-house or studio/agency partner teams
  • Direct experience designing for screens, live events, social, video and multimedia spaces across all platforms
  • Experience building and executing innovative and inspiring work for a challenger brand or new category
  • Strong track record of attracting, building, leading and retaining dedicated and talented creative design teams and finding best-in-class design agency and freelance partners
  • Proven ability to proactively solve creative problems, self-motivate and work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Ability to influence at all levels of an organization, utilizing interpersonal skills and the ability to work flexibly across departments as well as manage internal and external partners in a dynamic and high-pressure environment; able to evangelize the brand design system & champion creative work across cross-functional teams, including senior leadership
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to provide clear creative direction, career path guidance and timely and helpful feedback to improve creative processes to keep work on budget and schedule
  • Deep experience scaling brand design systems across multiple markets, including localization, cultural nuance, and sensitivity considerations for international markets
  • Portfolio of work showcasing design expertise of brand, digital, motion, typography, layout, form, OOH, packaging/product design, and composition

What the job involves

  • After almost a decade of providing access to life-saving healthcare and medical supplies across four continents, you’ll be joining Zipline right on the cusp of the company serving US consumers at scale
  • Starting with the launch of our next-generation delivery platform in Dallas this fall, we’ll be providing instant delivery for some of the world’s leading brands and most-loved restaurants
  • As the head of brand design, you’ll be responsible for extending the Zipline brand across surfaces, touchpoints, and audiences. You’ll activate brand strategies and campaigns, find compelling ways to tell our company narrative and show category leadership in a brand new category
  • As one of the key owners of the Zipline brand, you’ll partner with leaders and teams across the organization – with product and industrial design on in-app and on-aircraft brand opportunities, with marketing on assets, events and campaigns, and with sales and customer success on partner experiences and co-marketing
  • As our brand design leader, we expect you to elevate design quality, identify ways that design uniquely achieves business goals, foster an inclusive design culture, effectively scale the work, and expand what this brand means to partners, prospects, candidates, consumers, fans and skeptics
  • Extend awareness and love of the Zipline brand to new audiences, experiences and surfaces
  • Lead the creation of unique and compelling assets and campaign design across mediums and channels including web, video, social, physical experiences, and more
  • Inspire and lead a team of creative writers, producers, video editors and designers to develop and execute on the brand positioning and strategy
  • Build integrated campaigns that will drive customer acquisition, engagement and brand love for Zipline
  • Partner with leaders in marketing and across the company to understand business goals, help develop briefs, and direct creative that drives results

Our take

Zipline is transforming the way goods move by creating the first logistics system that serves all humans equally via a drone delivery service. As the first emergency drone logistics operation, Zipline is fundamentally changing how we transport emergency medical supplies and has expanded into commercial deliveries. It's partnered with several major companies, including Walmart.

Zipline has an edge over potential future competitors as the company has thousands of hours and over 35 million miles of flight to prove the system is safe and effective. It’s also one of the first companies to receive a full commercial operating certificate, putting Zipline in a strong position to continuously branch out to other markets.

The unicorn company operates globally and has signed its first government contract with Rwanda to provide up to 2 million drone deliveries by 2029. It is also aiming to start commercial deliveries to individual households in the near future. With big companies such as Amazon and Walmart examining “instant” delivery options, Zipline has a proven track record and the equipment and logistics in place to provide such services. 2023 funding pushed Zipline's valuation to a staggering $4.2 billion, indicating a bright future.
