Who you are
- The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has B2B and B2C communications experience, but is willing to add value across the board, no matter the situation
- PTW is looking for someone willing to grow with the company, who can stretch themselves across projects in multiple disciplines, and who can pivot on a dime depending on the needs of the business
- We are ideally looking for someone with gaming experience, drive, ambition, and a passion for storytelling, whether that’s to external or internal stakeholders
- We are looking for someone who wants to work in a modern communications department inside a rapidly growing company playing in a rapidly evolving gaming landscape. This position is designed to challenge the right candidate to build new professional muscles and try untested approaches
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ year experience in corporate communications and/or public relations
- Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy
- Experience working directly with senior company leadership
- Ability to manage multiple vendors, including but not limited to PR agencies, branding agencies, event logistics companies, etc
- Ability to visualize, strategize, and execute on a cohesive strategy for internal and external communications
- Ability to prioritize tasks, succeed under pressure, and roll with the demands of the business (and how quickly things change)
- Experience juggling multiple projects at one time, preferably in multiple time zones
- Familiarity with the gaming industry and overall enthusiasm for gaming is a massive plus
What the job involves
- As the PTW family of brands continues to expand around the world, the business has a growing need for a PR Manager to help build and run our Corporate Affairs department
- Our footprint stretches 16 countries and over 4,000 employees; we are looking for someone capable of helping execute a comprehensive internal and external comms strategy on a global scale
- Reporting to our Chief of Staff, the right candidate will help PTW bolster our presence in the media, drive unique evergreen stories around the nearly 150 AAA titles we work on each year, and help us build company culture through CSR campaigns
- In addition to our B2B business, this person will be spending a percentage of their time crafting and executing the communications strategy for an upcoming and proprietary unannounced social media platform, targeting gamers from Gen Z and Gen Alpha
- We are ideally looking for someone with gaming experience, drive, ambition, and a passion for storytelling, whether that’s to external or internal stakeholders
Our take
Video game development is a complex process that requires teams of artists, programmers, testers, voice actors, and other specialists to allow the game to launch successfully. However, sourcing and hiring such specialists and coordinating teams can be a time-consuming task, particularly for cross-platform and multilingual games.
PTW provides cross-platform video game development services for publishers, focused on offering end-to-end services from art production and game development to localization and data collection. The company differentiates itself from similar agencies by focusing heavily on localization, ensuring that every game has been designed to meet QA for localized standards such as slang, culture, holidays, taboos, food, and more.
Whilst PTW certainly faces competition from other video game development agencies and freelance service providers, the company recognizes that building and coordinating such a team is complex. By filling any specialist gaps in a development team whilst focussing heavily on localization, the company claims it can help video game developers publish high-quality video games that meet the expectations of players, wherever their location.
