Who you are

  • 5+ years of related experience across channel sales, enterprise sales, and/or solutions selling experience
  • Fluency in French or Spanish, as well as English is preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting & exceeding KPIs and targets
  • Excellent communicator and strong interpersonal skills to build relationships
  • Extensive understanding of industry trends and the key players in the competitive landscape
  • The ability to turn data analysis into strategic insights in order to drive the partner strategy
  • Self-starter with the ability to work fast & smart
  • Excellent organisational & time management skills
  • Proactive, curious individual who loves to find solutions to problems, rather than avoiding them
  • Expert in Salesforce and other sales tools/products to drive productivity

What the job involves

  • The Channel Sales team is a new Sales team that is being created to solve a large opportunity within Square: harnessing the horsepower of our extensive partner network to drive quality lead generation and referrals to Square Sales
  • This newly formed team will work with Square Partnerships to deepen and expand existing partnerships to create lead-generation opportunities with audience associations, industry partners, and resellers, effectively becoming a single point of contact for our partner sales and account manager teams
  • You will coordinate co-selling opportunities with our mutual Partner sales lead or referral and work with our sales organisation as the liaison
  • This individual will build strong relationships directly with the partner sales teams including updating, reporting, and on-site meetings/events
  • This role will focus on the following markets: Ireland, France and Spain
  • Reporting into the Global Head of Channel Sales, the ideal candidate has a passion for building relationships, and possesses the ability to strategically increase efficiency and help mutually beneficial relationships win
  • This role is based in Ireland with work from home opportunities
  • Build trust and rapport with the partners sales and account management contacts
  • Align with partner manager and partner on process for co-selling & generating referral opportunities for our sales team
  • Provide the partner visibility into the pipeline progression of the joint prospect opportunities
  • Help partners with enablement and training of the Square ecosystem
  • Educate internally on the value prop of our partners for bi-directional referrals
  • Document key insights on why we win/lose a deal
  • Meet regularly with respective SQ Partner Manager
  • Maintain accurate information within the Salesforce CRM
  • Meet individual & team deadlines, KPIs, and targets

Our take

Block is a financial services technology company comprising of Square, Cash App, Spiral, TIDAL, and TBD. Its biggest brand, Square, offers hardware and software for small to medium-sized businesses enabling them to manage the entire payment lifecycle. It functions similarly to Shopify and Stripe, but has paired online payment processing with physical devices such as registers, payment terminals, and mobile card readers.

The business was originally founded as Square in 2009 by Jack Dorsey of Twitter fame. Already well-established with SMEs all over the globe, Square has significantly benefited from the increased demand for mobile payment systems. Its order management feature remains a go-to tool for small businesses that otherwise didn't have the proper infrastructure in place when demand for home delivery surged.

Square rebranded as Block in December 2021, with the Square brand name remaining in place for their seller business. The company has since come under fire for its security practices, facing lawsuits in relation to a major breach of CashApp user data, and in 2024 announced plans to reduce its workforce in order to cut costs. Despite these setbacks, there is every chance the business will move past this, though it may take some time to rebuild trust in its product.
