Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in B2B or B2C product management
- 3+ years of prior experience building a payments platform or payments capabilities as part of a platform
- An ability to understand and craft effective strategies to resolve complex business problems
- Demonstrate a track record of success building, shipping, and iterating on high-value products in an agile software development environment
- Strong iterative design practices and platform oriented design
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Some experience with development technologies such as JavaScript, PHP/Ruby/Python, and SQL
- Some experience managing integrations with third-party payment products like Stripe, Checkout, Braintree, Plaid, etc
- Hands-on experience crafting and analyzing dashboards, and garnering insights from payments data
- You’ll have a solid technical background and can rally teams of engineers and product designers, and drive the development of great products
- You should feel comfortable articulating a product strategy and discussing technical tradeoffs with engineers
- You’re comfortable performing discovery and user interviews with internal team members to define and prioritize product features
- You collaborate well with engineers and product designers
- You can make tough decisions and clearly articulate reasons behind them
- You demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills
What the job involves
- As a Senior Product Manager, you will sit at the intersection of business, tech, and design
- You'll work with internal team members and users to define use cases and requirements and translating those requirements into technical specification documents to be consumed by designers and engineers
- You'll partner closely with the engineering team to help find optimal technical implementation methods as well as reasonable implementation schedules for product releases
- You'll lead the design, technical development, and launch of innovative products
- You'll prioritize features, building consensus, and coordinating product schedules with our team of engineers and product designers
- You'll ship products, enhancements, and solutions for our industry-leading insurtech platform’s payment system, driving business value with scalability and efficiency
Our take
Sure is a software-as-a-service provider that powers API-based digital insurance programs for enterprises and brands. Rather than underwriting the insurance themselves, Sure acts as a platform that enables brands to sell their own insurance packages which are actually underwritten by legacy insurers like Nationwide, Chubb and MetLife.
Not long ago, the company partnered with Zibo to streamline the renters' insurance process for tenants, a smart move in a world that used to be exclusively in person and is transitioning to digital. There are great benefits to having insurance and rent management under one online roof, for landlords and tenants alike. It has since teamed up with PorchPals for embedded package insurance and was recognised as one of the fastest-growing tech companies in North America.
The recent arrival of competitor Boost - founded by Sure's Series A venture capital backer - hasn’t deterred the company at all. In fact, Sure claims to be profitable, and boasts an impressive range of clients – like Tesla, Intuit, Mastercard.
