Role

Who you are

  • 3+ years of marketing, brand advertising, media sales, and/or online advertising experience
  • 1+ years of media sales experience
  • Possesses some industry relationships, with drive to build and grow network
  • Preferred experience within digital and programmatic technology
  • Solid knowledge of digital and mobile marketing, with an emphasis on creative
  • Must possess superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a highly motivated team player
  • PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills a must. Knowledge in Salesforce a plus
  • Passion for sales/marketing, and have the ability to adjust quickly to changing demands or strategies
  • Travel will be required

What the job involves

  • As an Account Executive, you are the primary link between Kargo and the marketplace
  • In this sales role, you’ll develop relationships with brands and agencies to ultimately align Kargo’s value proposition with their various challenges and goals
  • Manage full sales cycle (prospecting to pitch to close to renewal) for an assigned territory
  • Evangelizes Kargo as a consultative partner providing world-class customer service and developing strategic partnerships
  • Represents Kargo's values and philosophy to the world
  • Creates and grows partnerships both brand direct and with key agencies
  • Develops corporate contacts and cultivates relationships at all levels that enhance Kargo's position
  • Possesses strong baseline understanding of the full digital eco-system, with a curiosity to always learn more
  • Works to deeply understand the customer's business, challenges, and goals
  • Increases revenue from positioning and presenting new and existing products, preparing appropriate proposals, closing the sale, and growing the relationship long-term
  • Exhibits a HUNTER mentality – an appetite for building and closing deals
  • This includes growing market share of current business and driving new business
  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation in SalesForce of all activity, including forward looking forecasts
  • Maintains broad knowledge of company products and their capabilities as well as the strengths/ weaknesses of competitive products
  • Cycle market response back to the company, primarily the product organization, to help inform our roadmap and positioning
  • Interface with Kargo creative, design, and yield teams to develop sound, compelling pro-active ideas and proposals
  • Works very closely with Account Management and support teams to service, maintain, renew and up-sell current clients

Whilst mobile ads have existed since the beginning of smartphones, most rely on technology that was built for desktops, resulting in bad advertising and missed opportunities.

Kargo provides a mobile advertising platform for marketers and publishers, helping them to deliver better business outcomes by leveraging advertising technology designed specifically for mobile. The company achieves this by directly integrating optimized impressions from the best-performing publishers within its specialized supply, using tangible identity metrics to analyze and improve advertiser KPIs, and overall facilitating personalized and mobile-optimized advertising.

The company acquired Videobyte (a video advertising platform for Connected TV) in early 2023 to expand operations into the relatively young digital TV industry and its lucrative TV formats. Bringing video, publisher tools, and unique formats to Kargo's omnichannel, this acquisition indicates a diversification of mediums for the advertising provider, who already has a firm grip on both mobile and desktop advertising platforms.
