Role

Who you are

  • 1. Proficiency in frontend engineering: you have at least three years of professional experience using an open-source JavaScript framework, as well as HTML and CSS. We don’t use CSS libraries such as Tailwind, so you will need to know how to react pure CSS
  • 2. Attention to detail: you strive for excellence in every aspect of your job. You don’t gloss over minor issues and you understand that great work is the accumulation of many small things done right
  • 3. Communication skills: you explain your thoughts in a clear, organized, concise and accurate manner

What the job involves

  • As a Frontend Engineer, you will craft the web apps serving the business needs of our 450,000 customers. You will be part of a team of 70 engineers shaping the financial app that will be used by one million SMEs by 2025. Qonto is expanding its Frontend team to deliver new features at an even faster speed
  • Craft new features for our customers within a Cross Functional Team
  • Participate in a thrilling migration project from Ember to React
  • Make a difference by suggesting and spearheading improvements
  • Be a key player in teamwork with Product, Design, and other Tech stacks
  • You will contribute to and use our own design system and UI library ****- which we built ****from scratch

  • You will be part of a team that is driven by quality. All written technical documents are reviewed and challenged by peers before implementation. We aim at delivering “Right First Time” (no QA returns), and everyone in the team shares this ambition
  • You will bring your energy and skills to improve the team’s tools and processes, at many levels. Our team delivers continuous improvement with Quarterly Focuses

  • Our web apps were developed using the Ember.js framework, and we have released several open-source JavaScript libraries but…
  • The Frontend team just started a migration to React. Now is an exciting time to join, especially if you want to hone your expertise in React over the coming years!
  • In order to accelerate our migration process, you will use AI-powered tools such as Dust, GitHub Copilot, and more
  • Not familiar with React or Ember? No problem, we got you covered with pair-programming and dedicated time to learn React through an interactive course

Qonto’s rapid growth has seen it expand its footprint from France into Spain, Germany, and Italy. The company is capitalising on the digitisation of the financial services industry and has leveraged close business and product partnerships with other major fintech startups like Stripe, October, and PayFit, to continue improving its offerings.

The company's value has soared well into the billions and, on top of this, in 2022, the company completed the fastest-to-date €5 million fundraise on Crowdcube. Moving forward, Qonto appears to be working on building up its presence in newer territories. This includes the integration of Penta, a digital business banking provider for SMEs and freelancers in Germany, that will now operate as "Penta by Qonto".
