Company mission

To radically simplify the journey for brokers to secure cover for their clients by applying a fully digital algorithmically driven process to a 333 year old industry.

Role

Who you are

  • You’re commercially-minded and ideally understand how value is derived in an insurance business
  • You’ve both read the theory and done Product effectively in practice, leaving you with a toolkit that you can apply to varied situations
  • You’ve taken products from idea to successful outcomes and have a great working understanding of the mechanics involved in achieving that
  • You’ve experienced failure and learned from it
  • You’re innately curious

Desirable

What the job involves

  • Employing your strong product skillset to identify the best problems to solve, ideate on effective solutions, and chart a path to delivery in tandem with user research, engineering, and other stakeholders
  • With a bias for data-informed reasoning, prioritising the right work at the right time and ensuring that all processes are collaborative and clear to others
  • Encouraging effective delivery by validating key assumptions through iterative research and development and supporting the squad to make appropriate trade-offs on scope, impact and timing
  • Leveraging deep commercial understanding, both in terms of how Ki operates and the market opportunity we’re seeking to capitalise on, to communicate the value of the work we do
  • Driving stakeholder discussions across the business on what capabilities will most meaningfully move the business towards both near term and longer-term strategic goals
  • Engaging openly with the broader Product organisation to identify opportunities for cross-benefit and mitigate against dependencies where possible
  • Proactively communicating progress on key initiatives and upcoming plans

COO of Otta

Ki is an insurance provider looking to revolutionise the commercial insurance sector. It is entirely digital driven by algorithms, setting risk parameters and managing claims and exposure. It offers instant, on-demand access for users and clients, designed specifically with brokers in mind to evaluate policies and quotes using a platform optimised for efficiency and responsiveness. As part of this, Ki promises to follow leader's terms and always offers an instant line.

Ki is a Lloyd's of London syndicate for providing capital and accepting insurance risks, and was built as a collaboration between Google and specialised insurer Brit. It claims to offer the fastest route for brokers to receive a quote for their clients on the Lloyd's market.

Recent funding has allowed for extensive expansion of the company, and plans include further development into the company's algorithm. The company ultimately looks to establish itself as the centre of the specialist insurance sector to operate efficiently and seamlessly alongside the existing market.
