Company mission

We’re on a mission. And it’s money without borders. Instant, convenient, transparent and — eventually — free.

Role

Who you are

  • You are a seasoned PM who has solved complex problems at a global scale
  • You are customer obsessed. You approach every problem from the eyes of the customer, not the business
  • You have a strong sense of UX and a strict attention to UI details, and have a track record of delivering excellent UX. Design skills are a clear desired bonus
  • You have experience in qualitative design testing, to assess solutions against functional and emotional needs
  • You can use different data points, both qualitative and quantitative, to identify, diagnose and prioritise customer problems and opportunities to solve them
  • You have experience running A/B tests to improve conversion funnels or change customer behaviour
  • You are able to turn a vision into clear, tangible building blocks of a roadmap and have a clear definition of done
  • You have experience of working in a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, analysts and researchers
  • You’re hands on, and you’d do everything needed to make the team and the product successful. You get it done

What the job involves

  • We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Global Pay In Experience team and contribute to rethinking how Wise customers send money
  • Wise's model for moving money internationally can be complex; customers need to send money to Wise so that we can move it around the world, but for a single currency there can be up to eight ways to get that money to us
  • This is where you come in. You’ll help us to simplify this experience for customers and remove friction and effort to help customers make the best choice and have a hassle-free experience
  • This will help more customers move their money internationally, whether it's to help friends and family or to support their international lifestyle
  • The Global Pay In Experience team is working across our offices in London, Tallinn and Budapest
  • They own the experience of getting customers' money from their bank account to ours in order to fund their international transfers
  • They're pushing the boundaries especially on convenience and customer experience to meet our vision of making sending money as easy as sending an email
  • They measure success by the satisfaction of customers, the number of customers successfully funding transfers and how long it takes them to do so
  • Setting new standards of funding transfers and delighting customers with the experience
  • Taking the fragmented local experiences of sending money and creating a global framework to help customers successfully get their money to Wise
  • Defining how transparency looks like when explaining the varying fees and speeds of different funding methods, never misleading a customer
  • Working with regional product and compliance teams to deliver a global product which accommodates the specifics of local financial systems and local regulations
  • Working with designers, developers and analysts to ensure the team ship the best possible product
  • Choose your own path to success - you’ll have the freedom to define the vision and the responsibility for making it happen
  • Be flexible in how and where you work, we understand everyone needs a little something different so we’ll do our best to make it happen
  • Travel to work with our teams in Singapore and New York as well as meet various partners and organisations when needed
  • Inspire teams with your ideas, knowledge and self-starting attitude

Our take

Wise started when the two founders realised they would be better off trading Estonian kroons for British pounds (and vice versa) between themselves rather than going through banks. That was back in 2011, and they've since grown Wise into one of Europe's most successful tech businesses, exchanging billions of currency every month.

Wise rapidly grew by solving a significant problem for customers, who lost too much money to banks when exchanging currency. They've attracted investment from some of the best investors in the world, from Andreesen Horowitz to Index Ventures and even Richard Branson.

The challenge for Wise will be maintaining their edge and brand power in a market that's becoming increasingly crowded with new entrants (like Revolut and Monzo) and incumbents (traditional banks) trying to catch up. To do so, the company is ramping up its digital and marketing strategies, as well as pushing for further development of its existing products.
