Role

Who you are

  • You have 3+ years of experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipeline development
  • You have experience in applications development with Python, microservices and SQL/NoSQL databases
  • You have hands-on experience with AWS services or other cloud providers (e.g. CodeArtifact, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, ECR, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, Cloudwatch etc.)
  • You understand and have implemented the most appropriate forms of automated test coverage for different scenarios
  • You are familiar with RESTful and GraphQL as API design patterns
  • Problem solving is a strength of yours. You bring the ability to interpret data and business strategy, understanding constraints and trade-offs
  • You develop in accordance with best software engineering practices, helping to define development standards for the team
  • You are a skilled communicator who can write and speak with clarity, tailoring your message to the audience, and incorporating active listening skills to understand others

What the job involves

  • We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to play a central role in our Platform engineering enablement team, Trailblazers
  • With a focus on building our paved paths, internal developer platform and internal developer portal
  • Our team’s mission is to provide self-service capabilities to developers which drives quality and standardization across the entire organisation
  • We believe in the principles of Platform Engineering to identify the pain points impacting Workhuman product teams and enable those teams by providing common, reusable tools and capabilities via an internal developer platform (IDP)
  • An opportunity to work on a platform enablement team, liaising with our product engineers to understand and solve engineering pain points
  • An opportunity to work on best practice service templates, orchestration and infrastructure
  • An opportunity to build and curate our Internal developer portal
  • An opportunity to work on monitoring & observability strategy from the ground up
  • An opportunity to work with our architects and engineers as we evolve our tech stack at scale
