Role
Who you are
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience working with Golang, demonstrating a deep understanding of Go generics, programming paradigms, constructs, and idioms. However, if you have a strong overall development background, this requirement can be flexible
- Have practical experience with data structures, algorithms, REST APIs, and a thorough comprehension of Object-Oriented Programming concepts
- Exhibit a genuine enthusiasm for learning new things and a willingness to work with multiple languages and domains. Knowledge of additional languages such as C++, Python, Java, TypeScript, low-level programming, or productivity tools would be advantageous
- Value software engineering practices, including defensive programming, test-driven development, and automated testing
- Possess strong attention to detail and uphold a high-quality approach, consistently ensuring the overall performance of the product
- While prior experience in the Blockchain ecosystem is not mandatory, it would be considered a valuable asset
What the job involves
- You will work on protocol (the heart of Elrond) together with the core team
- You will solve complex software development problems
- You will apply your knowledge to analyze and collect data from the network, perform analyses on it, identify problems, devise and implement solutions, including best practices, and conducting experiments to validate these solutions
- You will contribute to features, research activities, prototypes development by implementing and driving improvements on all areas
- You will work in collaboration with other engineers across Elrond to design creative solutions to challenging problems and new products
- You will work in all popular programming languages in the ecosystem
Our take
Although most people are not engaging with the metaverse, large companies see it as the future. Enterprises such as Microsoft are bringing their apps and services to metaverse-enabled offices. MultiversX wants to bring more independent developers and users on board too, by providing a toolkit of products to allow people to join and build in the metaverse.
MultiversX isn't exactly starting from a clean slate: formerly known as Elrond, the company rebranded following the poor financial performance of its token in 2022. This pivot will allow MultiversX to retain its community and use its expertise in blockchain technologies to help develop infrastructure for the future of Web 3.0.
Since the rebrand, MultiversX has worked to become a key player in the onset of Web 3.0, for example through its xDay conferences dedicated to blockchain technology. With venture capital still pouring into metaverse projects, the company's pivot is so far looking to have been a wise one.
