Role

Who you are

  • Worked in a company or environment that is driven by customer experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience working as a back-end engineer, with a strong focus on DevOps/SecDevOps
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced start-up environment, in a small engineering and product team, under your own steam
  • Expert knowledge of: JS/Typescript and NodeJS and their ecosystems; databases (e.g. Relational, Document, etc); AWS and its technologies/services like Lambda, RDS, Step Functions
  • Detailed, hands-on experience of building secure, production-ready micro-services in the cloud, from the ground-up, including pipelines, security, networking, monitoring
  • Deep experience in designing, developing and supporting APIs
  • A passion for devops and related practices (Shift Left, CI/CD, and the various ways software can be deployed and maintained)
  • Experience debugging and resolving issues that can be cross functional between the backend and front end

What the job involves

  • Build our core user microservice which underpins the product and is critical to a great customer experience
  • Work with the data and digital trust SME to ensure that we have clear and secure customer information transport and storage capabilities
  • Migrate existing services that sit within Digital Ocean and AWS to our AWS environment
  • Work with engineering, product and security colleagues to create a devsecops approach to building out our user service. Actively support our product lifecycle from dev to test to deploy and operate to increase the speed and quality of delivery, and the availability of our product
  • Work with colleagues to build out automation that enables us to work to CI/CD of our product lifecycle and reduce cycle times and manage our digital risk
  • Design and deliver and manage the user service capability that is right sized, right cost and risk managed for our growth plan
