Role
Who you are
- We’re looking for people passionate about solving real-world problems and with strong product sensibilities to build delightful user interfaces and experiences
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience working as a full stack software engineer on production code
- Advanced knowledge of JavaScript, compiled CSS (e.g., SCSS), and a frontend framework like React
- Be uncompromising in your path to the delivery of beautiful UI/UX experiences
- Experience building new feature from scratch, using clean, organized, and scalable code
- Experience supporting other engineers and acting as a “tech lead”
- Experience working with complicated systems at scale
- Experience working using Agile/Scrum methodology in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in a high-growth environment working with deadlines and milestones
- Good judgment - the exercise of critical thinking, analyzing and assessing problems and implications, identifying patterns, making connections of underlying issues, understanding risks and developing mitigation strategies, and taking ownership of the outcome

What the job involves
- The Justworks’ Payments team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to help model the complex world of payments in fast, accurate, and scalable software
- As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you’ll be focused on our payments system, building experiences that power core products of the Justworks platform
- You will take ownership in technical decision-making on a mission-critical team, partnering closely with Design and Operations to ensure that we are enabling Justworks’ entire suite of business lines to scale together efficiently
- You will work to turn our world-class payments capabilities into revenue-generating, customer-facing experiences
- Build, test, and maintain API-driven software that enable best in class payment flows and experiences
- Break down complex workflows into easy-to-use software, incorporating our shared component library wherever possible
- Scale and improve the performance of mission-critical workflows for internal and external stakeholders
- Develop deep subject matter expertise in payments to help enhance the platform experience
- Promote engineering excellence through technical leadership, knowledge-sharing and mentorship
- Perform other related duties as assigned
