Who you are

  • The ideal candidate has experience executing B2B events in the UK, and is willing to dedicate the same level of creativity and excellence to all events, regardless of size and complexity
  • They will enjoy owning the entire event management process from inception to completion and will seek to create repeatable processes that enable scale across the wider team
  • This is a fast-moving role, requiring strong project management, prioritization and communication skills
  • Day-to-day activities will change constantly as our business grows, and so being flexible and comfortable with ambiguity will be required for success
  • The ideal candidate is able to conduct themselves autonomously, successfully manage a demanding project pipeline, and effectively communicate and foster strong relationships across sales and marketing teams
  • 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
  • Experience building, executing and scaling event programs from concept to completion
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
  • Track record of executing event marketing plans for various audiences and industries, managing multiple deliverables, and meeting budgets and deadlines

Desirable

  • Experience using customer research, hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, generate forecasts, and assess the efficacy of marketing programs
  • Experience managing external agencies
  • Experience with marketing strategies in online channels
  • Subject matter expertise in the digital advertising industry, understanding current trends and industry influencers

What the job involves

  • We are seeking a creative, self-directed, data-driven event marketing manager to plan and manage the execution of Amazon Ads first and third-party events in the UK
  • Primary outputs for this role include creating uniquely-Amazon event experiences that drive awareness, brand familiarity, and consideration amongst our advertiser and agency audiences
  • This role contributes to the regional event roadmap and will own the end-to-end event production process, including budgeting, external vendor management, on-site creative branding and logistics, communications, event tech, measurement, and reporting
  • Work with the UK Enterprise Marketing Lead and Sr. Event Marketing Manager to develop event strategies that achieve business and team goals
  • Influence and collaborate with key stakeholders in marketing and sales on event plans, including first (Amazon-owned), and third-party industry events
  • Own the end-to-end planning and execution of events, including; budgeting, external vendor management, branding and creative, on-site logistics, communications, event tech, measurement, and reporting
  • Manage event production agencies and third-party vendors to ensure bar-raising execution
  • Build processes for repeatability and scalability of event activities
  • Think big to deliver new ideas and creative approaches to events that improve the customer experience
  • Drive and deliver event activation and recap documents and contribute to cadenced business reporting and narratives

On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
