Who you are
- Proven impact in four or more of the following Corpsec domains: Beyond Corp, Corporate Identity, Endpoint Security, Data Loss Prevention, Device Trust, SaaS Security, Zero Trust
- Strong development skills in Python, Golang or Java
- Expertise in threat modeling risks to corporate infrastructure and driving the implementation of preventative controls and in partnership with our Detection and Response organization, detective controls
- Advanced knowledge of operating system internals, and a core competency in four or more of the following: Identity and Access, Infrastructure Hardening (macOS, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS), Saas Security and Assurance and validation
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the company whilst prioritizing tasks and work independently under minimal supervision
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience in a related technical field
- 11+ years of experience as a Corpsec focused Security Engineer
- Proven impact in four or more of the following domains: Beyond Corp, Corporate Identity, Endpoint Security, Data Loss Prevention, Device Trust, SaaS Security, Zero Trust
- Ability and desire to mentor staff and lead a large portion of our Corporate Security roadmap
- Software engineering proficiency building automation in a language such as Python, Golang or Java
- Core engineering competency in three or more of the following: macOS, Linux, Windows, Google Workspace, Okta
Desirable
- Software engineering proficiency building production services in a language such as Python, Golang or Java
- 12-15 years of experience as a Corpsec focused Security Engineer
- Practical experience with Beyond Corp/Zero Trust architectures
- Practical experience with data loss prevention architectures
- Practical experience with large scale corporate identity management infrastructure
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
What the job involves
- We’re looking for an experienced Security Engineer to join Snap as a member of the Corporate Security Engineering team
- Working from our Santa Monica or Palo Alto offices, you’ll collaborate with engineers from many disciplines to design and implement secure corporate infrastructure for our company
- Design, develop systems and tools to improve the security properties of Snap’s Corporate Identity, DLP, Device Hardening, SaaS security, and Zero Trust
- Plan, develop, execute security strategy and policies for Snap in-house built services and SaaS applications used to run the Snap business
- Operate as a technical lead mentoring staff and leading the highest complexity projects our team executes on
- Review and provide principled architectural guidance for infrastructure systems, account lifecycle, fleet management and automation
- Execute and improve security reviews and consulting processes with runbooks and automation

Snap is the social media giant that owns Snapchat, a social media mobile app released in 2011. Created to serve as a more emotive communication form than texting, the app has gained mass popularity, reaching upwards of 400 million daily users worldwide.
After rejecting a billion dollar acquisition from Meta (then Facebook) in 2013, Snap has found itself in competition with the social media giant, particularly with Instagram. Despite this, the company has marked a place for itself in the ever competitive social media space through developing features like a Discover tab, augmented reality lenses, in-app games, ads and monetisation options, as well as launching its paid service, Snapchat+.
Snap has so far not earned an annual profit since going public in 2017, but as Snapchat's user base has continually increased it has nearly closed the gap. Like other tech companies it suffered in late 2022 due to a surprise drop in advertising revenue, but has been rebuilding to its former trajectory since then. Given Snapchat's lasting popularity amongst young people, further success appears likely.
