Role
Who you are
- We're looking for someone with a basic understanding of back-end development (knowledge of PHP/Symfony is a plus), who is eager to learn and solve unique challenges
- A recent degree or bootcamp certification in computer science or software engineering. Familiarity with PHP/Symfony is a plus, but not required
- Eagerness to learn about working with various data formats and developing data processing scripts
- Problem-solving skills and curiosity to find creative solutions to unique challenges
- Adaptability and enthusiasm to learn different technologies as needed
What the job involves
- You'll work closely with Damien, our CTO, to learn about our technology and assist with customizing our backend systems for each client
- Your responsibilities will grow to include adapting our API, processing client data, and developing custom scripts for data manipulation and error correction
- Tailor our backend systems for each client's unique needs
- You'll learn to adapt our existing Symfony-based API, process various data formats, and develop custom solutions
- This will involve adding code snippets to our API, adjusting product feed connections, and fine-tuning our frontend integration
- You'll work under guidance to accommodate specific client requirements, gaining hands-on experience in real-world application customization
- Start by manually handling diverse client data formats (CSV, Excel, PDF, images) and transforming them into our required internal format
- As you progress, you'll learn to think creatively to extract and validate sizing information
- Over time, you'll begin developing simple automation scripts for tasks like file renaming and data error correction
- Under supervision, help adapt our systems to accommodate unique client requirements
- This may include assisting with product feed connections, API response adjustments, and frontend integration tweaks
Our take
The fashion industry faces a challenge closing the gap between online shopping and the physical try-on experience. As consumers rely more on digital platforms, they struggle to accurately assess garment fit, resulting in increased returns and lower satisfaction. Traditional solutions like 3D try-on tech are costly and slow, aggravating the issue instead of solving it.
To address this challenge, Veesual is leveraging AI-powered virtual try-on technology. Through its proprietary 2D-based Image Generation Engine (IGT), Veesual offers fashion brands a scalable and cost-effective solution to showcase their products on a range of different models, providing customers with a true-to-life depiction of fit and appearance.
Recently securing funding, Veesual is poised to accelerate its expansion into the US market as it looks to revolutionise the digital retail landscape. The funding will fuel the opening of a US-based office in New York, recruiting senior US talent, and enhancing its product offering tailored for American apparel companies.
