Who you are

  • We're looking for a brilliant Mid-Weight Creative Studio Project Manager to join OVO’s in house Creative Studio. You should be a great teammate, capable of building strong relationships with cross-functional partners, designers, and copywriters
  • This role requires a background in creative delivery, ideally with either in-house or agency experience
  • Experience in client services, delivering event collateral and production for video or photography is a real plus
  • You’ll need excellent communication skills, a love for getting great work delivered, a passion for creativity and an eye for detail
  • We're seeking an individual who brings contagious energy and positivity to the team and is inspired by OVO's zero carbon journey with its customers
  • Are content juggling multiple things at once! From numerous briefs, resource requirements, process optimisation and scoping conversations
  • Can balance quick turnaround work with longer lead briefs - we work across briefs of all shapes and sizes
  • Have a passion for creative work and delivering efficiently - we love the work we create, but we also love to try and make things as efficient and effective as possible
  • Get a thrill from problem solving - things come up, they always do! So we have to come up with creative solutions to problems regularly
  • Are comfortable with the unknown or changeable - we work to plans and pipelines where possible, but things evolve and change (particularly in our industry) and we have to adapt to that
  • Get a kick out of ‘testing and learning’ - sometimes you need to give things a go to see if it will work or not. A testing mindset and desire to continuously improve are vital for success in our team
  • Can handle studio data and numbers around resource use and budget burndown

What the job involves

  • Reporting to: Lead Creative Delivery Manager
  • Your fantastic project management skills will ensure that your studio projects are delivered according to brief, budget, and timelines (as much as you can control!)
  • You'll remain calm under pressure, keeping the team composed during tight schedules, and maintain high delivery standards
  • Working within OVO’s Creative Studio you’ll be responsible for the delivery of creative and content being produced for OVO, from a wide ranging set of stakeholders
  • Examples of the type of output to be delivered includes event collateral like pop-up banners, posters and merchandise, videos, performance marketing and cross channel campaign assets, tailored visuals, illustrations and comms, van wraps, policy documents, engaging customer emails and site content
  • Stakeholder management is a huge part of the role, alongside ensuring our internal processes are translated into working practices on your projects
  • You’ll always have an eye on opportunities to optimise how we work, and collaborating with PM team mates, to make it happen
  • Partner with one or multiple briefing workstreams and be their point of contact for briefing, scoping, management of projects, process improvements and communication. Help manage their studio ‘budget’ and work with them to prioritise their pipeline
  • Day-to-day management and guidance of the creative team on your briefs, project progress, resource planning, management and coordination of all project deliverables
  • Ensure all processes are upheld & any areas for process development are worked through with the Lead Project Manager
  • Deliver BAU Projects as your bread and butter, utilising our internal project management system OVO Creates, for certain areas of the business (to be defined when you join) & special projects based upon objectives / requirements of the business
  • Regular check ins with key briefing teams to discuss upcoming briefs, ensuring we have the right resource lined up to deliver them and clarity on what is required from the brief
  • Identify and manage stakeholders effectively, anticipating challenges, and developing plans to address risks
  • Your key outcomes will be:
  • Delivering great creative that answers the brief (and more!)
  • To have a ‘one team, one dream’ mentality with the creative studio, ensuring great collaboration and output
  • Excellent stakeholder relationships and trust - so you can guide them and manage their requirements in the most efficient way
  • Being able to optimise how we work (not just understanding the fundamental processes)
  • Within your first 3 months month you’ll:
  • Know the creative team and key stakeholders you’re working with
  • Having clarity around the set up of the business and how the briefing teams connect
  • Have shadowed some of the PM team to understand our key processes and will start to feel confident about delivering BAU briefs
  • Have scoped out some briefs independently (whilst having support from a Senior/ Lead PM where needed)Have delivered small to medium scale briefs
  • Understand what good looks like (for our creative and briefs)
  • Have gotten to grips with our tools and systems at a fundamental level (there will still be lots more to learn!)
  • Have a solid understanding of how we report on use of ‘budget’ and brief numbers, and be able to pull your first stakeholder report

They are analysing meter data to deliver easy, personalised actions, turning electric vehicles into power stations with clever chargers, and building energy-efficient heaters. In 2020, OVO completed the acquisition of SSE Energy Services' retail arm for £500 million, meaning that the challenger brand now has around 4 million customers in the UK.

While helping Ovo members halve their carbon footprints, the company is also working towards becoming a net zero carbon business by 2035. The challenges ahead for the company include encouraging consumer behaviour change, shifting towards subscription models for home energy use.
