Who you are

  • Have communications experience (either via agency or in-house), social media expertise, excellent writing skills, interpersonal skills, a can-do attitude, highly-organised and well-developed planning skills and confidence to deal effectively with internal and external stakeholders (including executive management)
  • The role also requires understanding of media relations and press office duties. Specifically, the skill and judgement to handle sensitive press enquiries in a diplomatic and timely manner
  • Experience within the alcoholic drinks industry, luxury sector and additional languages would be an advantage

  • The dynamic Communications Department at Chivas Brothers brings together a team of talented individuals with expertise in global brand, corporate and internal communications, workplace culture, social and environmental sustainability
  • Responsible for driving engagement across the full suite of stakeholder groups, the Communications team is adept at relationship building, message crafting and storytelling, finding new and innovative ways to develop compelling narratives, engaging experiences and creative content about our company and our wonderful range of spirits brands
  • The result is advocacy and third party endorsement internally and externally
  • Together the team sits at the heart of our company, reporting to the Chairman & CEO while providing consultancy and support for the entire business
  • Role purpose:
  • To support the activation of the Corporate Communications and Portfolio Programme strategies in conjunction with the PR & Communications Manager and Senior PR & Communications Manager
  • To manage the social media plan, content development and delivery for Chivas Brothers’ social channels (prioritising Instagram and LinkedIn) in addition to supporting content development for our executive team including our Chairman & CEO
  • To support the broader team in developing and implementing corporate and portfolio communications campaigns and activations
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Corporate Communications
  • Support the PR & Communications Manager in the delivery of Chivas Brothers-specific corporate communications events and initiatives, including:
  • Release of financial results in February and September
  • Working collaboratively with our agency partners on executive leadership positioning opportunities
  • Annual media networking events such as at Christmas
  • Manage the Chivas Brothers digital and social channels, working closely with internal and agency teams to ensure content is engaging and supports the broader strategy in alignment with our company values
  • Act as a key conduit for broader business functions to story mine for content
  • Maintain and update the Chivas Brothers website
  • Work in close collaboration with communications and social media counterparts at HQ (Paris) and other UK-based affiliates to coordinate social campaigns as needed
  • Support the PR & Communications Manager in managing the retained social media agency’s work-plan, budget and performance against objectives
  • Global Portfolio Communication
  • Support the delivery of the Portfolio Programme, which aims to raise the profile of the Chivas Brothers portfolio: increase engagement levels with the media and key influencers to drive relevance for the corporate brand through its world-renowned key strategic brands. To include:
  • Act as first point of contact for all media enquiries and develop responses in conjunction with direct team, agency and company spokespeople
  • Scrutinise inbound visitation requests and make recommendations; help coordinate and host site/brand home visits where required
  • Actively manage the annual Awards & Accolades Strategy and associated assets
  • Manage day-to-day brand award entries, liaison with awards bodies and brand teams on communication of results, and timely submission of samples for tastings
  • Insights and Reporting
  • Support implementation of industry-leading media monitoring, analysis and evaluation tools to help the team achieve its strategic objectives
  • Regularly review all media hub systems, processes and assets to ensure they are ‘best in class’, and propose new ways of working where required
  • Liaise with our retained reporting agency and other partners to ensure quarterly insights are leveraged to inform strategic communications recommendations throughout the year
  • Internally, you’ll work with colleagues across the full business, bringing together cross-department messaging to develop the Chivas Brothers corporate and portfolio narrative
  • Externally, you will work with a variety of agencies including managing our digital partner. You will also be visible to key industry press
