Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of experience in growth or developer marketing, preferably in the developer products or SaaS industry
  • Proven experience with marketing automation tools and CRM systems
  • Strong understanding of SEO, technical content marketing, and community-driven growth strategies
  • Experience in driving product-led growth initiatives focused on developers and optimizing the developer journey
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
  • Excellent communication and project management skills

What the job involves

  • As a Demand Generation Lead, you will own the end-to-end growth engine for Fireworks’ developer ecosystem
  • You’ll define the vision for acquiring, engaging, and retaining AI/ML developers globally, partnering with the executive team to align growth initiatives with revenue targets and market expansion goals
  • This role demands equal parts strategic innovation, data-driven execution, and leadership in a hyper-competitive AI infrastructure landscape
  • Develop Marketing Automation & Campaigns: Design, implement, and optimize marketing automation systems tailored to developers. Create and execute targeted campaigns that resonate with the developer community, driving awareness, engagement, and adoption of the Fireworks platform
  • Organic Growth Strategies: Develop and implement organic growth strategies to attract developers, including SEO, technical content marketing, developer community engagement, and open-source contributions. Focus on building a sustainable presence in the developer ecosystem
  • Developer Journey Optimization: Analyze the developer journey from initial awareness to long-term adoption. Identify opportunities to improve conversion rates and increase engagement at each stage, using insights to inform product-led growth initiatives
  • Product-Led Growth: Leverage PLG tactics specifically designed for developers to drive deeper product adoption and usage. Implement strategies that encourage hands-on engagement with Fireworks’ tools and features
  • Pipeline Development & Tracking: Collaborate with the sales and product teams to develop and track a developer-focused pipeline. Use data-driven insights to refine marketing efforts and ensure high-quality lead generation and nurturing
  • Paid Budget Management: Manage and optimize the paid marketing budget to maximize ROI, focusing on channels and platforms that are most effective for reaching developers, such as specialized tech forums, developer-focused social media, and search advertising

Our take

Whilst the development of generative AI is thought to be the reserve of large companies like Open AI, smaller startups such as Firework.AI are making this technology easier to access and develop for smaller companies wanting to handle specific business needs using AI. As an open-source model API, it has one of the largest user bases - with over 12,000 users leveraging Fireworks.AI’s software.

Though lacking the brand name recognition of generative AI developers like Google and Meta, Fireworks.AI differentiates itself in a market crowded with large competitors through its unique approach to deploying its software. It creates smaller, production-grade, customisable generative AI models that can be launched privately and securely, rather than the non-private and inflexible models built by larger companies.

After its 2024 Series B round of $52 million, Fireworks.AI has been valued at over $550 million, an impressive sum for a David in a sea of Goliaths. The company plans to use its funding to develop compound AI systems that can orchestrate across multiple single models. It will be interesting to see how the company evolves with its potentially disruptive business approach to generative AI.
