Company mission

To transform the way companies solve real-world problems with machine learning.

Role

Who you are

  • 5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining software systems, with demonstrated expertise in building platforms, frameworks, or tools for other software engineers
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and ability to write detailed technical specifications
  • Experience with at least one of AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience with the following technologies is preferred / a bonus, but we don’t expect every candidate to have experience with them all: Python, Kotlin, Bazel, Kubernetes, gRPC, and Postgres
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience

What the job involves

  • The Foundations team at Tecton is focused on creating building blocks that enable Tecton’s engineering organization to quickly ship high-quality software
  • We are a new and growing team at Tecton, and our focus spans a wide range of domains, from build systems and test infrastructure to the core frameworks and platforms that Tecton’s products are built upon
  • We collaborate across the engineering organization to identify friction points in building software at Tecton and build platforms, frameworks, and tools to solve them
  • Optimize the inner development loop for Tecton engineers - enable fast builds and high-quality local development
  • Define and drive adoption of core technical standards across Tecton - refine how we use fundamental technologies (think: Bazel, linters, dependency injection, logging)
  • Architect Tecton’s Testing Pyramid, designing test abstractions which run quickly while providing high-fidelity regression signals
  • Evolve product platforms that solve product-building challenges shared by multiple teams (think: database design, serving infrastructure, task execution frameworks)

Our take

Tecton provides an innovative solution that makes it possible for all companies to benefit from machine learning, regardless of their level of expertise and experience. The company is committed to the democratisation of artificial intelligence, believing that it is something that all businesses should be able to access, not just the privileged few.

As part of this process, Tecton provides a range of services, ensuring that machine learning applications can be built at business level. The experience of the company makes it possible for businesses to implement machine learning projects in real-time, and then use them to derive insights from the best data available.

Tecton also offers what it believes to be the first enterprise-ready feature store for machine learning, enabling data scientists and engineers to build a library of great features and serve them in production. The unique nature of its product coupled with the CEOs' experience at Uber and Google elevates Tecton above other machine learning companies. With 2022's series C funding, Tecton has been scaling its engineering and go-to-market teams and positioning itself well for future growth.
