Company mission

On a mission to spend their days building something that helps people as they explore this world — showing them the way and capturing the stories they create as they go.

Role

Who you are

  • 5+ years experience as a Product Manager for a technology company (preferably at a fast-growing scale-up)
  • Experience working on app-first consumer products
  • Experience with conversion optimization, reducing friction for users
  • Strong in data analysis, where you enjoy diving into the details
  • A solid understanding of UX/UI and creating a great (app) experience
  • A passion for travel, with an innate curiosity about the world

What the job involves

  • We work with cross-disciplinary Product teams, where you will play a key role in building and maturing our products with an outcome in mind
  • Your experience with consumer products, coupled with a love for data, will enable you to excel in this business-critical role
  • You will be the go-to person for one of our core product pillars, responsible for balancing the optimization of the product with larger innovations, all while ensuring stable and reliable operations
  • Be responsible for one of our core Product domains, which is a semi-mature product with a proven product-market fit. You will be working on further building and maturing the product, where every improvement has a significant impact on our users and business
  • Own product initiatives end-to-end, in close cooperation with product & tech, community & support, and other stakeholders. You'll have a deep understanding of our product, our operations and our users. This means asking the right questions, measuring and analyzing data, and always striving to learn from your peers
  • Prioritize those ideas that have a real impact over the stuff that doesn't matter as much, using your intuition and experience while always validating and measuring your assumptions
  • Translate big and complex topics into small and testable stories, striving to make the tasks and outcomes comprehensible for everyone you're working with
  • Play an active role in our agile rituals, facilitating retrospectives, reviews, demos, and daily standup meetings, and ensuring that work is properly refined before going into a planning session

Our take

Polarsteps was founded by avid travellers who set out to automate well documented travel experiences for its first users. Now, it aims to be the go-to for travel planning, tracking and blogging. It allows its users to enjoy the travel experience while taking care of the documentation.

Travel innovation is not new, however, Polarsteps sets itself apart by optimising their product to work independent of mobile reception when needed, catering for long and remote travel experiences.

It is this promised convenience that secured their impressive customer growth. They have used this to build larger teams and a more robust product offering to set them up as a leading travel app.
