Who you are

  • The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and relish the challenge of solving reconciliation-type problems as they arise
  • Individuals with a demonstrable interest in pursuing a career in finance and accountancy
  • At least 1 year in a finance and accounting role, or a related degree
  • Ambitious individual with a desire to qualify for a professional accounting certification, such as ACA, ICAS, or CIMA
  • Enthusiasm for finance systems, processes and the associated reconciliation and problem-solving skills to make them work seamlessly
  • Ability to be flexible, respond quickly to change and adapt priorities in the context of a dynamic tech company
  • Willingness to contribute to the finance team as a whole, including setting team priorities, identifying issues and problem solving
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external stakeholders

What the job involves

  • We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join the Faculty Finance team
  • In this role, you will play a crucial part in financial processing, primarily around Accounts Payable
  • The majority of this role will be spent working with our Accounts Payable system, managing the inbox, liaising with suppliers, overseeing regular payment runs and investigating differences between our Accounts Payable system and our accounting software
  • You will work closely with the wider Finance & Accounting team, especially during our month-end process
  • This is an opportunity to be part of an agile, embedded finance team in a high growth tech business delivering both consulting and product
  • You will manage the Accounts Payable inbox, ensuring emails are dealt with promptly
  • Processing invoices, verifying details and approvals before payment
  • Assisting in managing employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Conducting regular reconciliation of bank statements to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial records
  • Contributing to the month-end process, especially around balance sheet reconciliations to ensure our AP system agrees to our accounting software
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and statements, and providing general support to the finance team with ad-hoc tasks as needed
