Our take

We are currently facing a global housing crisis, with over 1 billion people living without adequate shelter. ICON is a 3D powered construction company that is setting out to redesign the homebuilding industry.

ICON develops advanced construction technologies by using 3D printing robotics, software and advanced materials. Still operating a waitlist for home reservations, the company has raised huge funding since 2017, and this reflects excitement and anticipation surrounding ICON.

The sheer scale of what can be done with ICON’s technology is extraordinary, so much so the company has just signed a contract with NASA to develop systems to build on the Moon and Mars. It also partners with large scale residential communities, not-for-profit housing, and works on special projects like rocket landing pads. These are undoubtedly exciting times for ICON and it’ll be very interesting to see the outcomes of this new contract.
