Role
Who you are
- Professional experience building and shipping complete production web applications from the back-end to the front-end
- Fluent in Javascript/Typescript, experience with React, NodeJS
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL or other relational databases, and an understanding of database performance
- Bonus: Experience with Apollo Client / GraphQL
- Bonus: Experience in eCommerce, marketplace or multi-tenant platform development
- Bonus: Experience setting up and maintaining end-to-end integration and unit tests
- You have a passion for pixel-perfect user interface development and high quality user experience enabled by well architected software
- You take pride in creating experiences that are a joy to use and are excited to work on a team with a deep background in product design

What the job involves
- Be involved in the full product development cycle - help define and build new features end to end, break down and execute engineering tasks and own entire pieces of our product offering
- Help shape our technical architecture, infrastructure, and best practices
- Work directly with internal and external brand partners to customize our product to their needs and continually improve end-user experience
- Work closely with the CTO to grow the engineering team and set the tone for the engineering culture

Our take
The secondhand fashion market is growing faster than ever due to increased consumer awareness of the positive impact it has on sustainability. However, the sale of pre-loved clothes almost always takes place on third-party marketplaces, preventing brands from capitalizing on second-hand sales and intercepting fake item sales.
Archive develops online marketplaces for brands to facilitate the resale of second-hand items, allowing them to capitalize on the growing second-hand fashion market whilst regulating the legitimacy of such sales. The marketplaces developed by the company are integrated directly within existing first-hand online stores, ensuring that brand loyalists purchase and sell directly through the brand without using external secondhand marketplaces.
Whilst platforms such as eBay, Depop, and Etsy facilitate the resale of preloved fashion items, Archive recognizes that they prevent brands from earning revenue and can lead to the sale of fake products. With 2022 funding behind it, Archive is contributing to an industry set to grow at a rate of between 10 and 15 percent a year over the next decade, and its offering to secondhand fashion markets is strong, legitimizing the sale of preloved products, and advocating for a more sustainable fashion industry.
