Role

Who you are

  • You are fluent in German and English
  • You have at least 5+ years of experience in selling software to engineering organizations - ideally to industries relevant to us such as automotive, Electronics or Industrial Machinery
  • You bring experience in strategic account planning and identifying new business cases and use suitable frameworks such as MEDDIC or SPICED
  • You understand complex sales cycles and, together with the customer, define specific solutions with added value and high scaling potential
  • You communicate confidently and in a target group-oriented manner up to C-level and independently lead complex negotiations with the aim of a successful sale in the enterprise segment

What the job involves

  • As a Strategic Account Manager (m/f/d) we are looking for you as an experienced strategist who convinces engineering leaders and successfully builds and develops customer relationships
  • Your responsibilities will include: Managing the entire sales process - from lead generation to the successful completion of our software deals
  • With your entrepreneurial spirit, you develop creative and effective strategies to meet and even exceed your ambitious sales goals
  • Through targeted networking with engineering and simulation leaders and other high-ranking decision-makers, as well as through active cold calling, you build a strong network
  • In close cooperation with our technical Pre-Sales and Customer Success Teams, you will create outstanding customer experiences and develop strategic account mapping to achieve sustainable growth in your accounts

Our take

Simulation and computer-aided engineering (CAE) software exists to help engineers in analysis tasks, by imitating real-life scenarios from mathematical formulae to enable optimisations and adjustments to be found prior to manufacture. However, though utility is high, CAE solutions can be difficult to implement, hard to scale, and require large investment in hardware and maintenance. SimScale provides a cloud-based simulation tool for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to enable engineers to easily implement simulation CAE across R&D cycles.

SimScale, founded in 2012, began life as a consultancy, before bringing cloud computing to simulation. Its platform enables organisations of any size to make use of engineering simulations, by removing the large hardware costs that would normally make them economically inaccessible; and providing accurate end-to-end simulations that can be generated without experience in the technology. The company initially provided CFD services, used to solve structural problems, before expanding to include FEA, for fluid-flow problems, by a partnership with the firm Simerics.

SimScale has hundreds of thousands of users and is progressing towards its goal of making engineering simulation a standard tool in the industry. Funds raised by the company will help it expand into new industries by adding more simulation capabilities.
