Who you are

  • We are looking for a self-motivated and creative Social Media Manager to join our Brand & Communications team
  • 2+ years’ experience working a Social Media Specialist or similar role
  • Expertise in working across a brand’s social account (through agency or in-house) and be a confident brand custodian on social channels
  • Hands on experience of delivering successful social media and influencer campaigns – both organic and paid
  • Experience in online issues management / monitoring
  • Fluent in using a range of social tools such as Facebook Ads Manager, Hootsuite and Talkwalker
  • Experience of of delivering measurable results in both key brand and commercial metrics
  • Confidence in working cross-functionally with a range of teams (Commercial, Product, CS, PR, Brand, Performance Marketing, HR)
  • Creative brief writing experience (intended for our in-house studio)
  • A self-starter with a sense of ownership of projects and a drive to deliver results
  • Flexible and agile in a fast-paced environment and able to stay calm under pressure
  • A strong understanding of the digital / social media landscape
  • Highly creative
  • Excellent written English and strong communication skills.
  • A keen interest in pop culture and current affairs
  • Knowledge and insight of the latest social media best practices and technologies

Desirable

  • A second language is a plus but not essential

What the job involves

  • Reporting into our Brand Manager, this individual will be the team expert in all things social and implement the Trainline social media strategy (in UK and key International markets) including influencer and owned channel consumer campaigns
  • The role also works closely with our Head of Communications to ensure synergy cross-channel, and to promote and protect our brand reputation through our owned channels
  • Work collaboratively with Brand and PR teams to plan and execute and evaluate paid, organic and influencer campaigns from the agreed strategy. Ensuring alignment of campaign objectives and execution
  • Developing and planning social content calendars in line with brand and product roadmap across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter platforms
  • Managing all published content and day-to-day activities, including community management and reactive posting to capitalise on social moments and opportunities related to the brand and industry
  • Supporting our Brand Manager in planning social media strategies on a quarterly basis
  • Managing our external agency to ensure the smooth running of our UK Influencer marketing programme adhoc influencer led campaigns
  • Management of the monthly social media report and social tracker
  • Working with copywriters and designers to ensure content is informative on brand and appealing
  • Supporting PR with issues preparedness and issues management, advising on content, frequency of interactions and tone of voice for social comms
  • Monitoring Social Media for mentions and interactions related to issues / potential issues
  • Promoting Trainline’s Talent Brand on Twitter and LinkedIn in partnership with Internal Comms and HR team to highlight culture / great place to work
