Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of consumer product design experience with knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal forming, soft goods, and electromechanical systems
- Track records of shipping high-volume consumer products
- Demonstrated experience with 3D modeling and simulation tools (eg. Solidworks, ProEngineer, etc.)
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing processes, design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing
- Solid understanding of root cause analysis, DOE, GD&T, and other quality measuring techniques
- Experience supporting manufacturing in Asia
- BSME or equivalent. MS preferred
What the job involves
- Architect and design complex electromechanical systems, including plastic, metal, and soft goods components integrated with novel sensors and actuators
- Collaborate with electrical engineering, industrial design, manufacturing, and product team members to develop products from early-stage concepts to mass production
- Perform various testing and analyses to ensure designs meet product goals, including thermal, fluid, and structural analyses
- Define and oversee testing requirements, fixtures, and equipment needed to validate designs during development and in production
