Role

Who you are

  • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence decision-makers, internal and external, in order to reach goals and objectives. Build strong working relationships with leaders across global EFG teams (e.g. sales, product, business development, marketing, human resources and finance) and at all levels of the organization
  • Experience leading a successful team, with the ability to instill a positive culture built around open dialogue, mutual trust, respect and accountability
  • Success in this position requires leadership, agility, ability to influence without direct authority, and the desire to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment
  • You have a good understanding of gaming, esports or /and sport and the fandom that drives it
  • Uses understanding of cultural differences to influence actions and decisions
  • As you will be working closely with global teams, regular international travel may be required as well as a flexible approach to working hours
  • 10+ years of marketing management experience minimum
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent. Master’s degree or equivalent preferred. Relevant additional experience will be accounted for instead of a degree
  • Well-rounded product and marketing experience with advanced knowledge of marketing principles, brand, product, and communications management
  • Proven track record of developing and managing successful marketing strategies to drive growth
  • Extensive experience in developing one-to-one communication on a mass scale
  • Strong experience working closely with media teams or agencies
  • Experience with brands focused on entertainment, culture or youth preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate and drive cross-discipline programs
  • Strong initiative, creativity, sense of drive and ambition
  • Consistent record of handling projects in different stages of maturity, and stakeholders in both commercial, product and engineering teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Impeccable process management skills; able to get results across multiple parallel processes across multiple regions
  • Experience with subscription-based programs, loyalty programs and rewards-based programs is a plus

  • We’re now in search of adept individuals—seasoned experts in marketing and strategy—to join our ranks and become the driving force as our Senior Consumer Marketing Director for our owned digital platform
  • In this role, you'll be the voice of the customer, championing the perspectives of fans and players to foster a customer-centric approach
  • Our Consumer Marketing team is dedicated to driving strategic growth, ensuring that every aspect of our marketing efforts—from gathering insights to product activation and evaluation—is meticulously aligned and executed with excellence
  • In the dynamic realm of esports marketing, the stewardship of the three-year customer marketing strategy rests with Consumer Marketing, and you as the primary custodian
  • Drive the global consumer marketing strategy and positioning for FACEIT and its portfolio of products
  • Responsible for expanding adoption of FACEIT by driving new user acquisition, engagement and retention
  • With direction from product, lead all go-to-market campaigns for FACEIT, with end-to-end accountability for targeting, positioning, and execution, with a strong focus on digital and performance tactics
  • Leverage output from insights and analytics to develop a global view of FACEIT users that informs channel and content plan
  • Lead the development of the annual marketing strategy, GTM plans and budget management to fuel the growth and success of the direct-to-consumer and ensure annual revenue and business performance targets are met
  • Manage and allocate marketing budget in an effective and timely manner to support the business priorities and commercial revenue targets
  • Drive the global rollout and adoption of a new rebranding strategy for FACEIT
  • Work directly with the Brand & Creative team to inspire creative output for FACEIT that reflects the brands verbal and visual identity and supports the product growth ambitions
  • Work seamlessly with Product Marketing and the wider Product team to understand and amplify the product releases planned
  • Be the center of the marketing offense, leading efforts for integrated cross-functional plans in collaboration with the marketing peers in Fan Engagement & Creators, Brand & Creative, Consumer Commerce, Merchandise, and Planning & Operations
  • Own and build effective relationships with relevant external agencies and stakeholders
  • Direct and guide your own team’s ability to prioritize and maximize resources for all marketing initiatives related to the FACEIT

Our take

Young people are increasingly turning away from traditional media, and gaming has in recent years become a professional spectator sport that draws huge online crowds. FACEIT is a competitive gaming platform that allows developers to run their own online tournaments, providing ranking charts, skill-based matchmaking and anti-cheat software to ensure that these events are as fair as any traditional sporting competition.

The esports market is projected to be worth about £4.5 billion globally by 2030, and FACEIT has attracted large scale investments as it continues to innovate in this market. Not all of its moves have panned out - for instance its foray into crypto gaming in 2022 could have come at a better time, but its pivot to non-intrusive in-game advertising has been well received by developers and is a testament to the adaptability of the company.

FACEIT is continuing to release and support new gaming products, for instance a car racing tournament released in colloboration with RENNSPORT, where established esports teams and car manufacturers will compete for a prize pool of €500,000. An Overwatch tournament launched in 2024 with a cash prize pool of $170,000. As the esports market shows no sign of slowing down, FACEIT will remain in a strong position to grow alongside it.
