Company mission

Reddit's mission is to bring community and belonging to everyone.

Role

Who you are

  • 5+ years of hands-on, full-time, post-grad, internship experience in iOS development
  • Experience working on a 0-1 team and product, inventing technologies to meet novel use cases
  • You love writing technical docs and convincing others of your approach
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and to deliver projects on schedule
  • Exceptional communication skills with peers, cross-functional partners and leadership
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with Javascript bridge layers like JavascriptCore
  • BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience

What the job involves

  • We’re looking for someone to be a key contributor to our iOS efforts
  • This is a high-impact role where you’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of user facing and platform features, from interactions all the way down to runtimes and compilers
  • Build features and integrations in our native iOS codebase to empower 3rd parties to apps on-top of Reddit
  • Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch. You’ll be reviewing and writing both code and tech docs
  • Collaborate with your cross-functional partners, including design, product and developer relations
  • Continuously learn and improve your technical and non-technical abilities

Our take

Reddit is a website that facilitates thousands of message board communities, known as subreddits, with an aim to promote authentic human connection. There are more than 100,000 communities on Reddit, covering everything, from food, entertainment, sports, and books, to more niche topics that cater for very specific audiences.

The simple platform is used by more than 52 million people a day and attracts over 50 billion monthly views. While these are impressive numbers, they do pale in comparison with social media giants Facebook and Twitter, however, Reddit distinguishes itself by providing easy-to-find communities for a truly endless range of topics.

Reddit makes money through advertising as well as offering a premium ad-free membership plan. The company has enjoyed continuous user & revenue growth, acquisitions by Conde Nast in 2006 and Advance in 2011, and plans to launch an IPO bid in 2024.
