Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in scaling sales and achieving revenue targets, preferably within a startup or high-growth environment. Experience in rapidly growing a customer base and driving substantial revenue growth is highly valuable
  • Strong experience in technology or SaaS sales, ideally within the tech startup ecosystem
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team
  • Strong strategic thinking and vision to develop and execute a sales strategy aligned with the startup's growth objectives. This includes an understanding of market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive, hands-on approach
  • Ability to thrive in an agile and fast-paced startup environment, wearing multiple hats, and being adaptable to changing priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using data analytics to drive sales decisions, track performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement

What the job involves

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President of Sales to lead our sales team and drive revenue growth for us
  • As the VP of Sales, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, building and nurturing client relationships, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the company
  • You should understand and thrive in a fast-paced environment, where changing requirements and priorities are a constant
  • You aren't afraid of trying new things but know when to pull back on something when it doesn't add value
  • You’re comfortable working with a remote team and using synchronous and asynchronous communications to collaborate effectively
  • Sales Leadership: Provide strong leadership and direction to the sales team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company revenue targets
  • Revenue Generation: Setting ambitious yet achievable sales targets and KPIs to drive revenue growth across various product lines or regions
  • Strategic Planning: Work closely with the executive team to develop a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives. Identify new market opportunities and areas for expansion
  • Sales Process Optimization: Continuously refining and optimizing sales processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Forecasting and Reporting: Generating sales forecasts, analyzing sales data, preparing regular reports, and presenting findings to the executive team
  • Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor the sales team. Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and promote professional growth within the team
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners. Understand client needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape to tailor solutions that meet their unique requirements
  • Sales Operations: Oversee the entire sales process, from lead generation to deal closure. Implement effective sales processes and tools to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency
  • Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and customer success teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment of initiatives
  • Market Analysis and Planning: Conducting market research, identifying new opportunities, and devising effective sales plans and tactics to capitalize on market trends
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Developing and managing the sales department's budget, allocating resources effectively, and optimizing ROI

Our take

After LinkedIn acquired and eventually shut down CardMunch, the founders believed there was still potential in reimagining traditional business cards. Founded in 2018, HiHello offers a digital business card platform that truly focuses on the end-user experience.

Many app developers have attempted success with virtual business cards to little avail. HiHello stands out as it doesn't require both the business card holder and the recipient to have its app. Instead, it provides a QR code, from which the recipient is able to quickly and efficiently save the contact information provided into their phone.

HiHello has users in over 150 countries and has seen millions of digital business cards made via its app. The company has recently discovered high demand for enterprise digital business cards and so will use its most recent funding, led by Foundry Group, to expand the business platform to support companies of all sizes.
