Who you are
- The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of building large scale applications, low latency API’s, data pipelines, and a high focus on capability oriented architecture
- Exceptional programming skills in Java / Scala
- Experience building and consuming horizontally scalable RESTful API’s, GraphQL and distributed systems
- Experience with big data technologies like Spark, Flink, and Kafka
- Hands on experience with Javascript / Web Frameworks is a plus
- Self-driven and ability to get things done
- Experience with scrum or other agile software development methodology
- A constant desire to improve and learn
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years (or) a MS in Computer Science and 7+ years of software design and relevant experience

- EBay's Buyer Experience engineering team is looking for an outstanding Staff Engineer to work with as we redefine the face of eBay
- You’ll be working with a world class team of engineers, designers, product managers, and analysts to create great products that make a difference on one of the world’s most trafficked and loved websites
- As the lead engineer you will oversee aspects of the software lifecycle : design, development, testing and experimentation
- Be hands on technical lead, work closely with a skilled team of engineers
- Hire top talent, coach and mentor
- Use best practices to write clean, maintainable code for the project, and create a high performant delightful experience for customers
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks
- Be responsible for major projects and features from design phase to coding and testing
- Work closely with product managers, engineering leaders, scientists and collaborate with partner teams to execute a challenging roadmap
