Role

Who you are

  • At least 2 years of analytical experience in a digital environment (preferably but not necessarily in web or mobile analytics)
  • You are a keen explorer and love turning data into a story or and insight that points to the "why" behind the "what is happening"
  • Have experience setting metrics and finding baselines for them and communicating them in and outside of the team
  • You are familiar with data visualization tools and concepts (previous experience with Tableau appreciated)
  • SQL is your second language (we welcome PL-SQL, MS-SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL or any other dialect)
  • You are familiar with a concept of experimentation
  • You are a solid team player with an ability to independently assess and prioritize your tasks
  • You are fluent in English and have excellent communication skills

Desirable

  • You have worked with data processing and optimization using Python and/or R
  • You can A/B test and interpret the results and have a solid understanding of statistics
  • You are comfortable with Excel or Google sheets for quick low-effort investigations

What the job involves

  • Our vibrant analytics community is looking for a data-hungry, discovery-obsessed Product Analyst. In this role you will pair up with a Product development team to translate user data into insights and opportunities for product development
  • You get to play with petabytes of data, a sophisticated and advanced data stack - and help define the future development of the biggest online classifieds platform in Europe to be a product that customers love
  • Pair up with the Product Managers to set metrics that describe product success
  • Create dashboards to monitor the performance of these metrics and success
  • Decipher users' behavior and needs, and communicate these insights to the product pack
  • Transform data from various sources into clear insights to support informed decision-making around product roadmap
  • Proactively follow product changes and provide data-driven insights on the feature releases
  • Define hypotheses based on your data, set up and conduct A/B tests
  • Work closely with engineers to make sure we collect proper data that supports decision-making

OLX group started as an alternative to Craigslist outside the US and has since ridden the wave of classifieds, e-commerce and marketplaces to become one the most prominent web platforms in the world.

Over 300 million people use an OLX group website every month. The company has managed to reach this level primarily through the acquisition and integration of emerging marketplaces that typically delight customers with their easy-use and quality range.

The company is now deepening its M&A strategy by integrating further marketplaces and inventories on behalf of its largest platforms, like OLX Autos. The business has already done $1B of revenue since operation.

While some brands have been flying high, others like the Russian-based Avito have become liabilities. Navigating these fluctuations in the fortunes of its ever growing portfolio of brands will continue to pose the biggest challenge for the group.
