Who you are

  • The technical lead will be someone who thrives on being given problems to solve and the autonomy, ownership and support to apply their creative thinking to these problems
  • You will have knowledge of AI and machine learning techniques and will have successfully delivered AI based projects before
  • Team Leadership: Experience in line management and fostering high-performance cross-functional teams within dynamic environments
  • AI/ML Expertise: Exhibit hands-on experience leading on products with significant AI/ML elements
  • Product Delivery: The ability to showcase a proven ability to deliver high-quality products within challenging timelines
  • Communication Skills: Confident presenting ideas to a mixture of technical and non-technical audiences. Possess excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Educational Background: Hold a degree or Master's in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
  • Core Java knowledge and hands on experience
  • SpringBoot, JPA and messaging experience

What the job involves

  • We are looking for a Tech Lead to spearhead an engineering squad developing a product that utilizes AI/ML to disrupt the insurance industry and transform the underwriting journey
  • The team is actively engaged in crafting a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and the Tech Lead will provide technical guidance and leadership to steer the product to success
  • Propose and evaluate solutions for design challenges, leveraging your expertise to identify and assess new technologies and third-party components
  • Present designs to the Architecture Review Forum, contributing to the strategic alignment of technical decisions
  • Lead the team in designing, building, maintaining, and supporting high-quality software components
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager to translate the product vision into actionable development plans
  • Advocate for and establish standards within the team and the broader tech community
  • Address operational aspects, prioritizing concerns such as technical debt, non-functional requirements, and the production environment's performance
  • Participate actively in an agile SCRUM environment, supporting deployments when necessary
