Role
Who you are
- A deep understanding of functional and object-oriented programming
- Ability to plan and implement complex data models
- Ability to optimize poorly performing code, data queries, and network requests
- Flexibility to implement a feature from either a highly specific design OR a bare bones idea that needs thought & iteration
- Understanding of the complexity and failure domains Android applications
- Ability to troubleshoot Android fragmentation and explain both short and long-term solutions with trade-offs
- Effective communication, including the ability to translate and explain technical issues to non-technical team members
- You have experience with:
- Android is written in Kotlin
- Relational databases (Rooms, SQLite)
- Version control system (Git)
- Test writing and quality assurance
- Event-driven or reactive programming
- Core Libraries: GSON, Glide, Retrofit
- Structure is: MVVM

- We are looking for an Android Software Engineer. You will build and maintain a world class mobile application that works directly with our backend services and external partners
- You’ll be working on a small, multi-functional team that may include other engineers, a designer, product manager, data scientist and other roles
- Success in this role requires the ability to take on challenging problems and design & develop amazing solutions with a user-centric focus

Leading mobile shopping and loyalty platform Fetch has seen explosive success in recent years. Its concept is simple: users receive spendable points in exchange for scans of their shopping receipts.
The app has tens of millions of daily active users with even more downloads, and has seen impressive growth, having now reached 'unicorn' status twice over. This should come as no surprise. Brand reinforcement is crucial to customer retention and acquisition - but it is harder than ever, with the fragmentation of choice on the market and the declining efficacy of marketing. So material loyalty benefits are likely to prove a crucial tool in creating and leveraging a strong customer base.
Whilst Fetch faces competition from similar receipt-scan rewards platforms like ReceiptPal and Ibotta, it is using most recent series E funding to aggressively add brand partners at a competitive pace and onboarding staff at a level that promises strong continued growth.
