Company mission

To give online brands direct ownership of their consumer data and interactions, empowering them to turn transactions with customers into long-term relationships—at scale.

Role

Who you are

  • You’re a leader who wants to establish a strong POV and voice that cuts through the noise in the marketing automation software landscape
  • If you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, love both the art and science of storytelling, and want to not only do the best work of your career, but also inspire and coach our team of passionate product marketers to do the best work of their careers, this place is for you!
  • 10+ years of experience in B2B SaaS product marketing roles, ideally with a stint marketing to Marketing buyers (yes, slightly meta)
  • Experience directly managing and coaching individual contributors, building the next generation of great product marketers
  • Know what great work looks like – bringing in frameworks and playbooks for our team, while knowing when to create our own playbook to move fast
  • Have examples of great positioning and messaging that cut through the noise and differentiated your product or service
  • Unafraid of rolling up your sleeves and diving into the work, be it creating messaging, pitch decks, or other assets
  • Love and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, or marketing automation software is a major plus

What the job involves

  • We’re looking for a Director of Product Marketing to join our Platform PMM team
  • You’ll be leading a small but mighty team responsible for the core positioning, messaging, and go-to-market of our Marketing solutions
  • With our well-established stronghold in the Shopify ecosystem and awareness as a leading email marketing solution, you and your team will be tasked with expanding into new markets and driving a stronger presence for our SMS and mobile messaging capabilities
  • Lead a team of product marketers who are responsible for:
  • Crafting differentiated, unified positioning & messaging for our Marketing solutions
  • Partnering with Product Managers as the voice of our customers, GTM teams, and the market to help shape our product roadmap
  • Launching new, innovative features and products into market that cut through the noisy marketing automation landscape
  • Establishing Klaviyo as a thought leader in B2C marketing strategy and execution by developing and pushing a strong POV and voice in the market
  • Building core sales and marketing assets such as pitch decks, one pagers, enablement trainings, and more
  • Supporting our Sales teams in strategic deals that require product expertise and a strong understanding of customer needs and use cases
  • Collaborating with our Segment PMM team to tailor messaging and create sales plays for our various target audience segments

Our take

Klaviyo is a marketing firm helping growth-focused eCommerce brands drive more sales with super-targeted, highly relevant email, Facebook and Instagram marketing campaigns. From personalised newsletters to automated emails when customers abandon their shopping carts, the marketing automation platform makes it easy for businesses to capture, store, analyze, and predictively use their own data to drive measurable, high-value outcomes.

Klaviyo's CEO, Bialecki, believes that the main problem with e-mail marketing today is that there is a divide between two kinds of tools: analytics tools that help you understand what people are doing on a website, such as what products they are considering, and messaging tools that send them a marketing e-mail. Operating primarily within the retail and eCommerce industry, Klaviyo aims to solve this by offering a tool that brings together analytics and messaging. This allows companies to bring all of their first-party data into a single platform to get a deep understanding of their customers and then activate that data to deliver highly-targeted, personalised communications through email and SMS. In the process, Klaviyo's customers get a deep understanding of their consumers.

Klaviyo is a fast-growing company mainly due to its business model - the firm offers a concrete ROI for Klaviyo’s clients if the software persuades customers to make purchases by treating different types of customers differently. An IPO in 2023 has led to Klaviyo's release of Klaviyo AI, which empowers businesses to unlock revenue-driving opportunities and deliver exceptional customer experiences across channels. Still in its early days of public listing, it will be interesting to see how Klaviyo fares in the years to come.
