Our take
The applications of blockchain technology go far beyond digital currency - for instance, Ethereum enables building and deploying applications without fraud or third-party interference, but there are still many problems to be solved in the space. Nethermind, founded in 2017, builds tools that contribute to the Ethereum roadmap, as well as conducting research and consulting in blockchain and DeFi technologies.
Nethermind is a collaborative team of expert builders and researchers working across many Ethereum projects, formed to execute the future of blockchain. Towards this goal, the company not only contributes to core Ethereum development, but trains the next generation through a partnership program, offers advice to DeFi companies, and conducts its own investigations into the Ethereum problem space.
One key goal for Nethermind is to help achieve scalability by reducing the load on Ethereum using layer-2 blockchains, in mind of which the company has made several partnerships with other technologies including StarkWare, the company behind StarkNet. As well as its own projects, Nethermind has contributed to a number of projects by other companies such as Flashbots, showing its strong presence at the forefront of the industry.
