What the job involves

  • We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Finance Operations Specialist to join our finance team
  • You will be responsible for the revenue calculations, analysis, projections and reportings for the finance department
  • You will also be responsible for the customer invoicing and cash collection processes
  • This is a newly created position for the finance department and the role is expected to implement best in class procedures
  • This role will closely work with other operations specialists across the company (sales, customer experience, marketing)
  • Topline metrics reporting: The Finance Operations Specialist is responsible for providing insights to the investors on a monthly basis on the topline performance. You will need to report ARR, MRR, churn, ACV, and other topline metrics, with the support of the Sales Operations Manager. You will need to ensure completeness and accuracy of the reported KPIs
  • Cross functional collaboration: you will be expected to work closely with sales operations and customer experience operations team members and ensure all operational teams are aligned on how to achieve their goals and key results as one team
  • Systems integrations: it is important for the Finance Operations Specialist to ensure that information is flowing without errors between CRM and Finance systems. You will have to review and audit data from the CRM to ensure that it translates into accurate financial information
  • Benchmarking: you will be the point of contact for any benchmarking analysis, e.g. review how other tech / saas companies perform on the market, how our industry evolves and KPIs that are the new “best in class” metrics to be implemented and tracked internally so that Seqera stays on top of what investors and our industry require
  • Revenue projection: as part of the finance team, you will need to estimate future revenues (for upcoming months and years). You will be responsible for budgets and forecasts for recognized revenues and will need to provide in-depth analysis on variances between actuals and budgets / forecasts on the monthly basis
  • Revenue management: you will be responsible for the revenue calculation in our accounting system, Netsuite. You will need to ensure that revenue recognition standards are met (in Spanish and US GAAP), and also liaise with the fiduciary and / or auditors whenever necessary. You will need to implement controls on revenue, including monthly revenue reconciliation
  • Sales commissions: you will be responsible for the calculation of monthly earned commissions, as well as ensuring payments when due to Sales collaborators
  • Customer management: from the order (processed by the sales team) to the cash collection, you will be responsible to create customers, process invoices in Netsuite, ensure compliance with sales orders and collect cash from customers in a timely manner. You will also need to set up our customers into their vendor portals and provide them with any document required to create Seqera as a vendor on their end
  • Product list management: you will need to ensure that you have a list of items that is always updated, and revenue recognition rules are clearly identified for all existing and new items
