Who you are

  • Amazon is innovating in the Operations and Logistics space and looking for a driven, entrepreneurial, and analytical Marketing Manager to join Amazon Shipping
  • We expect the person in this position to be a self-starter, and to spearhead impactful demand generation initiatives that will generate volume and expand the footprint of Amazon Shipping across the EU
  • You will have experience leveraging and coordinating cross functional teams such as Sales, Marketing, Operations, Procurement, Finance, and IT and have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding program goals and targets
  • The Pan-EU Events & Partnerships Marketing Manager is a self-starter who can juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often highly ambiguous environment
  • This role requires the ability to communicate with senior leaders in a clear, concise, and structured manner, and to shift seamlessly between strategic thinking and execution in order to deliver results and increase leads
  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
  • Experience in marketing or marketing research
  • Proven track record of planning and delivering successful events and co-marketing initiatives that drive tangible business outcomes and demand generation

Desirable

  • Experience using customer research, hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, generate forecasts, and assess the efficacy of marketing programs
  • Experience utilizing systems and tools involving email, web, analytics, and CRM (Marketo, Tableau, Salesforce, etc.) for targeting, segmentation, reporting for demand generation

  • The successful Events & Partnerships Marketing Manager will be comfortable navigating ambiguity and operating in a start-up environment
  • This role is key to ensuring as a business we can execute upon our ambitious goals; helping us to break through to develop across the EU
  • You will be responsible for the end-to-end planning and execution of a robust 3rd party event calendar, as well as innovative programs that drive demand with strategic partners
  • Your goal will be to leverage events, sponsorships, and collaborative marketing to attract and launch new shippers with Amazon Shipping
  • Identify, prospect and secure new business opportunities for Amazon Shipping through event marketing
  • Drive revenue, adoption, and market segment share for our product by engaging and acquiring new customers by supporting and scaling out 1st party events strategy and through events and partnership activity
  • Ongoing evaluation and improvement: analyse processes and evaluate opportunities for solutions to improve customer experience from lead to launch, reduce costs, and increase scalability and repeatability
  • Drive recap reporting, and contribute to cadenced business narratives
  • Effectively manage stakeholders at all levels across the business and third-party agencies
  • Think innovatively to deliver new ideas and creative approaches to acquiring new business through events and partnership marketing programmes that drive lead generation and value throughout the pipeline
  • Willingmess to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and pivot quickly as business needs evolve

The company is present in numerous verticals, including cloud computing with Amazon Web Services, AI with its range of Alexa devices and a global marketplace more commonly referred to as 'the everything store'. Acquisitions include Ring, Twitch, Whole Foods Market, and IMDb.

More recently, Amazon has been focused on leading the "third wave in digital advertising". Many businesses are now shifting ad dollars to retailers, which before would have been spent with online media platforms. Amazon's seen great success in the space, with its revenue from advertising now higher than its Amazon Prime membership scheme, audiobooks and digital music combined. This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.

Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
