Company mission

To be the epicenter of digital business.

Role

Who you are

  • Familiarity with data science and statistical methods (or willingness to learn quickly!)
  • Prior experience shipping product features with design and engineering teams
  • Comfort with ambiguity and change at a fast pace - as a new product, what we plan today could change tomorrow
  • Good judgment for which problems to lean in on and which to leave alone (i.e. be good at knowing what to “say no” to)
  • Have a strong habit of using data and analytics to inform your decisions
  • Consistently follows up with your work to understand the outcome and learn from your mistakes
  • Have a habit of setting ambitious goals and can consistently achieve them through a clear strategy, disciplined execution and strong collaboration

What the job involves

  • Experiment is Amplitude’s fastest growing product offering, expanding the company’s footprint from data and insights into directly shipping features with impact
  • As an early member of the product team, you have an opportunity to shape a true 0 > 1 product and change the way digital product teams work everywhere
  • Product Releases: With engineering as the primary persona, this workflow focuses on how to create a new feature, ship to the right users at the right time, and understand user impact all in one place
  • Feature Experimentation: With product and data as the primary personas, this workflow focuses on how to make better decisions on what features to ship with confidence by making behavioral data and advanced statistics easy to use for everyone on every platform
  • User Targeting: As product teams learn what does and does not work for different audiences, it becomes clear that there is more than one right experience to help users get the most out of the product
  • This workflow focuses on how to create different versions of features that are targeted to different user audiences to maximize business outcomes
  • Connect deeply with customers to understand their needs and discover opportunities
  • Determine strategy across the entire product surface to make world-class feature experimentation more accessible and radically simple by companies with different experimentation maturity
  • Become a thought leader for experimentation, driving best practices both internally and with our customers
  • Work with other leads in the product org to discover collaborative opportunities where analytics and machine learning can leverage experimentation, and vice versa

Our take

Amplitude provides product analytics to help companies understand user behaviour. Product, marketing, and growth teams use Amplitude to discover and share insights about user engagement, retention, and revenue.

Amplitude’s user flows reveal which actions are the most commonly taken after users sign up, and which usually precede purchases made in-app, creating paths through the app. The behaviour of individual app users can be viewed with unlimited real-time activity feeds and user timelines.

Thousands of companies use Amplitude analytics including Microsoft, Under Armour, Intuit, Twitter, Bonobos, Peloton, and many more. In 2024, a securities fraud case was filed against Amplitude due to an IPO and stock share rise that was alleged to be artificially inflated before their downturn in 2022. Whilst this case is ongoing, Amplitude is still releasing new products and operating at full capacity.
