What the job involves

  • We are seeking a motivated, self-starting individual to help develop and refine our marketing strategies for Credit Card and Personal Loan products
  • The Marketing Associate will be a key driver of strategy and performance, collaborating with internal teams to ensure success against growth targets (acquisition via direct mail) while retaining acquired customers through customer lifecycle efforts (email)
  • Using a data-driven, audience-first approach, this role will be highly analytical in order to target high quality prospects with precision
  • You will be responsible for leading Direct Mail day-to-day operations and have the opportunity to branch out to other marketing channels across acquisition, lifecycle, and brand
  • Oversee the day-to-day execution of marketing campaigns for Credit Card and Personal Loan products across acquisition (growth), lifecycle, and brand
  • Lead Direct Mail campaigns, managing day-to-day campaign management and guiding strategy for the program as a whole
  • Build and maintain campaign timelines and ensure deadlines are met
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to execute marketing initiatives
  • Conduct detailed data analysis to evaluate marketing performance
  • Monitor campaign performance overall, develop performance reports, and provide strategic recommendations
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely execution of campaigns
  • Create creative and targeting testing plans that continually optimize the campaign
  • Manage forecasting for Direct Mail campaigns
  • Track key performance metrics to ensure that growth goals are hit
  • Support larger partnerships, managing the execution of digital and in-person marketing campaigns to build the Avant brand and grow the business
  • Build business cases for new marketing initiatives
  • Present findings to senior management and stakeholders
  • Mentor more junior team members to train them up on channels you have expertise in

Many Americans with below average credit scores are caught in a bind: they're unable to improve their score, and simultaneously cannot access traditional loans. Avant's alternative is to offer credit options that are based on machine learning and a large database to manage their risk. The business has issued over $8 billion in loans to date.

The company offers a quick credit decision and speedy access to any allotted funds. It paired up with Zero Financial in 2021, expanding its business to the digital banking space. It plans to offer a whole suite of products in a single platform, such as loans, credit cards, and deposits.

Many fintechs are looking at ways to remove the traditional barriers that people with low credit scores face when trying to take out loans. Avant is not alone in this space, but by expanding its offering to banking products as well, it has increased its customer appeal and its reach. The company has recently received a large investment from Ares Management Alternative Credit Funds, enabling it to expand its credit portfolio and further develop its platform.

Having studied at the University of Illinois, they spent a year as a Software Engineer at CashNetUSA and Enova Financial. They founded Debteye in 2011, before starting Avant in 2013, serving since 2019 as CTO.
