Who you are

  • Track record in building relationships in person, online and via telephone
  • Revenue responsibility in a previous role, B2B experience preferable

What the job involves

  • You are responsible for retaining and growing revenue from a defined group of Advisory clients
  • You will work closely within the Account Development team to turn valuable knowledge of our Advisory clients and consultancy services into commercial conversations
  • You will also be responsible for the day to day running of existing key brand accounts to ensure that clients are maximising their engagement with Contagious
  • Meet/exceed annual revenue targets
  • Accurate and continuous commercial forecasting of repeat revenue conversations across your patch of clients
  • Work with and support the Senior Account Development Manager and Lead Key Account Director in managing and developing the advisory client base for Contagious by identifying intelligent opportunities to upsell our consultancy services
  • Maintain a strong relationship with key stakeholders so that you are clear on their challenges and can pinpoint exactly where the Contagious advisory service adds value for their business
  • Work in partnership with the advisory team to create an annual business plan to identify risk and growth opportunities as well as forecast & plan for over achievement of target. This will be reviewed on a monthly basis
  • Work to identify client repeat revenue at risk and propose, manage and execute a plan devised to reduce risk and increase likelihood of continued spend
  • Act as project manager for major ongoing agreements ensuring timelines and scopes are adhered to by working with the advisory team to schedule project deliveries, while planning for additional sales opportunities
  • Ensure your knowledge of the Contagious Advisory product is constantly developing & increasing to further assist our client base. Use our CRM system to record, in a timely manner, accurate details of our relationships with clients and prospects
  • Work closely with other commercial teams at Ascential, such as WARC and LIONS, where appropriate, to create a seamless sales experience for a prospect
  • Maintain a solutions-oriented, proactive work style to advance towards goals
  • Partner with the Advisory team(s) to collaborate on account plans for all key/growth accounts

Ascentia dates back to 1887 when it was founded as a newspaper investment company in the north of England. Its shift into business analysis and optimisation can be traced to its acquisition of Glenigan, a provider of leads and information for the construction industry in 1996. This move has evolved into an umbrella of companies which are today listed on the London Stock Exchange and the FTSE 250 Index.

After selling off many of its newspaper subsidiaries between the 90s and the 00s, Ascential utilised its catalogue of business insight to expand into events, commerce, marketing, and retail, owning dozens of businesses that provide information on and help businesses grow.

Ascential continues to grow internationally. With much the same intuition as when it evolved its magazine sector to capitalise on newspaper printing downtimes in the 50s, Ascential invested in Berlin and Singapore-based eCommerce and analytics startups in 2022. It has proven that despite being a legacy company, it still has its ear to the ground to elevate the next generation of digital media and marketing tools.
