Who you are

  • Proven track record in the conception, construction, and upkeep of private cloud ecosystems, with hands-on experience in platforms like Kubernetes
  • In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, along with expertise in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
  • Proficiency in continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and configuration management toolsets
  • Demonstrated ability in Object-Oriented Design and Distributed Programming, with a preference for proficiency in C, C++, Golang, or Java
  • A comprehensive grasp of networking and data center infrastructure specifically tailored for private cloud settings
  • Outstanding capabilities in troubleshooting, effective communication, and steering project initiatives to successful completion
  • Dedication to collaboratively share in engineering support duties, manage software releases, and participate in an on-call rotation schedule

  • This crucial role involves the development and oversight of our global foundational platform, crucial for large-scale computing, data storage, caching, and media services
  • You will have the chance to create, implement, and manage eBay's sophisticated cloud infrastructure, which is vital for eBay's international e-commerce activities
  • In this position, you will play a central role in improving eBay's cloud capabilities, working in collaboration with a team of skilled engineers, working with clients, forming strategic partnerships with business partners, and coordinating with product managers
  • Architect and develop a robust and simple private cloud infrastructure tailored to meet the specific needs of the business demands as well as design and implement cloud solutions with a focus on security, reliability, self-service, automation, and scalability while ensuring compliance with industry standards and standard methodologies
  • Lead the migration of applications, services, and processes from traditional environments to the private cloud
  • Collaborate with Security teams to establish and maintain a secure private cloud environment, including data protection and disaster recovery strategies
  • Work closely with network and systems engineers to build the next generation of eBay’s private cloud infrastructure and provide technical mentorship and leadership in the adoption of containerization and cloud-native technologies within the private cloud and optimize resource utilization and cost efficiency through capacity planning and performance tuning of cloud infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for the cloud architecture, including design specifications, operational procedures, and architectural diagrams
  • Serve as a domain expert and advisor to IT leadership on private cloud strategies and standard methodologies
