Who you are

  • We are looking for a Sr Event Marketing Manager with exceptional experiential marketing, relationship building, and project management skills to manage customer engagement events for Amazon Business
  • To be successful in this role you will need to be creative and driven to deliver high-quality customer-facing events with frugality
  • You should be dedicated to continually testing, measuring, scaling, and evolving your event programs
  • This role will require strong collaboration and influencing skills as it partners across stakeholder teams and locales to define event strategy, program, and sponsorship needs, and to impact long-term customer experience
  • To be successful you will need to be comfortable establishing clear processes, set prioritization, write and communicate effectively
  • The right candidate will be a self-starter and have strong interpersonal, project management, and analytical skills
  • The ideal candidate will be metrics-driven with strong ownership and focus, with the ability to prioritize effectively and communicate clearly and persuasively
  • This person is able to deliver results and program excellence beyond the events they own, driving event marketing strategy for colleagues in marketing, sales, and product teams
  • To be successful in this role, you must be able to dedicate the same level of excellence to simple events as you would large, complex events
  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data
  • Experience in marketing or marketing research
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
  • Experience presenting metrics and progress to goal to senior leadership
  • 6+ years’ experience owning and scaling events

  • Ability to travel domestically & internationally and work across time zones
  • Capable of directly owning and managing all elements of an event from conception to measurement, including but not limited to: strategy, project management, vendor negotiation and management, production, event registration, data gathering/reporting, evaluations, speaker engagement, cross-functional partnering
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, creating a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Able to influence at multiple levels without authority
  • Thrives in an ambiguous environment; can independently remove blockers and make decisions autonomously
  • Exhibits ability to stay calm under pressure; resilient to set-backs

What the job involves

  • This is an opportunity to join a growing team and make a significant contribution to concept, build, and measure world-class events for our Business customers
  • You will own relationships with stakeholders and business partners where you will manage and scale highly curated events that enable our marketing strategies and sales teams
  • This role will own event strategy in UK and EU working closely with the Global Events team on both Amazon Business owned events (1P) as well as Industry 3P events
  • This role will own event strategy for certain customer segments, verticals, or locales, including program management, logistics, internal/external communications, and event tech and tool integrations (including registration, virtual event, and CRM tools)
  • You will define goals and objectives, metrics, post-event wrap ups, reporting, and analysis
  • This position does not have any direct reports

On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
