Who you are

  • You have 3 or more years of proven experience managing and coaching software developers
  • Computer Science or relevant 4 year degree
  • You have experience developing Cloud / SaaS enterprise solutions
  • You have experience working in production support issues post-deployment
  • You have experience leading teams that build new product features
  • You have knowledge and/or experience with Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing

  • Experience with HR/Recruiting solutions space is desirable

What the job involves

  • Join a team of talented, dynamic and passionate software engineers, working with key architects, product managers, and other partners delivering a new generation of on-demand Enterprise solutions designed to meet the needs of today's global businesses
  • The team’s overall goal will be to expand the Recruiting suite of products with integrations to third party partners as well as acquisitions in an agile environment while safeguarding the high quality our customers expect from Workday applications
  • Govern the activities of application development scrum teams delivering innovative features for the Recruiting product
  • Shape the team’s work to align with company goals and to have the most impact on the bottom line. Identify new opportunities and work with product managers to support areas beyond product development
  • Work in a highly collaborative environment to deliver an outstanding Workday product
  • Coordinate the analysis, design, programming, debugging, and improvement of a high quality Workday product
  • Interact with the development teams, product managers, quality and customers to solve everyday problems in an innovative way
  • Understand and promote industry standard methodology
  • Mentor team members in various roles, including assisting with career growth and personal development

Workday is a cloud-based software vendor that provides management of workforces and finances. The company uses a single database for workforce management and financial management to offer integration and optimize business intelligence across companies. It has added to the packages and tools it offers over the years, providing analytic options that allow companies to combine third-party data with information collected by Workday.

Workday has acquired and paired up with many other companies to keep expanding its offering. In 2021, it purchased the employee feedback platform Peakon in response to the growing need for managers to be able to survey workers and collect satisfaction data without face-to-face meetings. The company has also bought and developed many financial tools and HR management tools.

The company’s goal is to provide end-to-end back office services and while there are other providers, such as UKG Pro and Ceridian HCM, Workday’s broad offering helps them to stand out. Though it faced a tough global market in 2023 and has shed some of its headcount, Workday has seen a 6.5% gain in value in the first quarter of 2024. It is now focusing on growth and developing the AI capabilities of its platform. .
