Company mission

To give small business owners a great experience while getting the finance they need.

Role

Who you are

  • Growth mindset - all of the skills and behaviours you need to succeed are learnable. Some will take more time and practice than others, so be patient and persevere
  • Deep curiosity - get to the fundamentals of a metric, a field, a plot, a Google sheet. Aim to know your areas of responsibility inside out. Ask questions of yourself and where applicable, of others
  • Healthy scepticism - assume that at best everything can be improved, and at worst that everything is wrong or flawed. Challenge the business question, the brief and especially any reports or analysis inherited by or shared with you
  • Data analysis skills - through self-teaching and training or help from iwoca, you will become proficient with Development Mode and the SQL Runner in Looker, so you can build new reports and enhance existing ones
  • An eye for detail - be able to spot mistakes in your own work and others. Deliver outputs that are thoroughly considered and can be delivered with confidence
  • Excellent communication - use all the tools at your disposal to keep stakeholders up to date with the state of reporting and the progress of analysis. This includes documentation and posting in relevant communication channels
  • 0 - 2+ years of experience in a similar analyst role
  • Highly proficient in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
  • Basic knowledge of Python or a willingness to learn
  • Experience with BI Tools (Looker is most preferable, but Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Qlik Sense or other similar tools will also be very useful)
  • Self-starter with ability to work autonomously in an unstructured environment
  • Strong commercial acumen

Desirable

  • A degree in a quantitative field such as a STEM subject, Economics, Business or Finance
  • Understanding of LookML or SQL
  • Experience within a fintech or comparable industry
  • Basic understanding of different financial products

UK SME's are the backbone of a complex economy that is constantly changing, so the need for fast and responsive access to finance is becoming more and more important to ensure their success and growth. iwoca allows SMEs access to business loans in less than a minute, with its API and business marketplace partnerships.

With offerings like iwoca's, gone are the days where waiting up to eight weeks for a loan decision was viable. Its simplified business loans of £1,000 - £500,000 come with no fees attached, and applying online takes no more than five minutes. The ready availability of iwoca loans gives business owners a level of certainty, so that they can make instant decisions to help their business grow.

iwoca has made a number of partnerships with other players in the business finance space, including an impressive industry-first invoice checkout integration with QuickBooks. Funding raised by the company, which is now operating at net profitability, will enable it to meet a recent surge in demand for corporate loans. The company has made several billion in funding available to over 100,000 businesses since launching, positioning itself as a leading European fintech.

  • Smart: At iwoca being smart isn't about what you know, it's about how you think. Smart thinking means looking at each problem by asking ‘why’ first, then figuring out ‘how’.
  • Humble: We know all ideas are flawed, all code has bugs, and everyone makes mistakes - it’s how we learn. For us, being humble means you question yourself first, rather than your team.
